How is your game meta (within each relevant category)?
The prototype is about increasing values by leveling up to become more efficient in increasing values and so on.

Please list any pre-made art/music/other assets that you used.
I used the font "Carnivalee Freakshow" created by Livin Hell.

Anything you want to say to players before they play?
Watch three Miners grind trough life (or let it play in the background). You can choose which skill they should level (speed, mining or luck) by clicking on the small icon.

This Prototype was created over the course of a few days using Unity, Blender and Photoshop. It's very hacky :X

OK, I finally uploaded a video of my playthrough, it can be found here:

I agree with Bitly - I actually quite enjoyed this game! I like choosing between the three skills, and watching the numbers go up, and it's a nice deconstruction of grinding / clicker games by just having them literally mine forever. I would love to see this expanded a little bit with some sfx, music, and a few more choices.

Is it just me or do they level up slower when you run the game in the background?

I actually enjoyed this a lot.  I think you missed a bit because of the limited feedback on the leveling and skill mechanics... It wasn't clear what was happening at all times.  I think with more polish, this could be a great zeroth person game!

Great work!

Hey all, thanks a lot for your feedback!

I agree, right now, there is not much the player can do. Hopefully some of my future projects will be more exciting to play.
As for the meta aspect, the initial idea behind the prototype was to visualize the grind of leveling up some values. During the translation from idea to prototype things might have got skewed a little, ha!

Looks pretty, although without much interaction its a bit of a pointless grind (which I guess is the point?)

I like the look and the smoothness of how it plays, but there obviously isn't much to do.

Sound would add a lot.  Plus some level of interaction.  Or even explanation about what the skills do.  I have each of them leveling a different skill.  The Luck guy is way behind the other 2 (levels 10, 10 and 5 at this time), but I don't really see any difference between the three of them as they walk around and mine.

The game has nice aesthetics, but I can't really see the meta aspect of it... Even the "game" aspect is quite limited as well, as it doesn't need any interaction.

I would love to see this with improved mechanics, as the concept looks promising.

I tried this on internet explorer :)

Thanks for checking it out!
I agree about sound missing, will try to implement sound in future projects! Need to train this :)

Skill progression seems a bit slow for a short play, but it's a cool idea. Agree with Securas that it could use some sound, but the art is definitely really nice.

A good game. It would however be nice to have some sound.
