Fun graphics and fun gameplay. I enjoyed waddling through the level, though I never perfectly understood the way the invisible monsters worked, sometimes dying when I thought I was safe.
The long-winded dialog during the first part of the stage was very annoying, and not having a button to advance dialog during the immobile parts annoyed me like many Nintendo games do.
The "final boss" dialog went exactly how I was hoping. XD
I'm not sure if the game crashed, or was supposed to instantly close at the end.
This game has some of the most polished gameplay and level design of any of the games this jam.
Graphically, I really like the Fox, and the way he rotates his head when you move his feet. The textured grass also looks very nice. It would have been nice to see a cooler backdrop that had a bit more depth.
The music track is really good. This game has the 2nd best music. It would be nice to have more sound effects to really give the player more feedback and bring the world to life.
The humor and 4th-wall commentary is pretty fun.
Gameplay wise, it would be been nice to communicate more clearly to the player what controls are available, and what the signs do. Those aren't the most discoverable. I didn't realize they were checkpoints until after full-level restarts a whole bunch of times.
Also, be nice to power-gamers and give them a button to fast-forward or skip dialogue if they like. Especially for repeat playthroughs.
Hey! I'm the composer of the music! Super happy you like it. Unfortunately we ran out of time for sound design, so we only have music :)
Theme:
Genius, yet simple. Love it.
Gameplay:
Honestly, it doesn't look promising, but it's really entertaining. The enemies
are clever, the textboxes are a great, yet easy way to spice things up. I like
the humour. Most stuff is self-explanatory and I got a few "Aha!"-moments after a short
while.
Graphics:
Really damn polished. Game looks great. Nothing much to add onto that.
Audio:
The music fits the nature of the game - I like it.
Additional notes:
This game is really polished. You could continue to work on that if you add
more enemies / abilities.
Bugs I found:
None.
The controls are too simple! Actually my fingers are numb and I couldn't to jump during the horizontal beam, let alone type this comment. You're killin' me! :) Good job on the unique and killer controls.
