Really cool game! I noticed the enemy fireballs also damage themselves so it was fun trying to position and get them to hit themselves. It was difficult to get used to keeping an eye on the wind direction with just the hats but really fun once you get used to it :) The only thing that feels like is missing would probably be some vfx for when someone dies since they just pop out of screen, but small nitpick for a jam game that doesn’t take away from the experience.
hard and diferent, really fun!
I appreciate it and thanks for playing my game!
wow that was fun. really hard but fun.
Thanks for playing!
Nice game project, struggled with getting the direction of the wind, making it clearer may benefit the overall gameplay 😊 like the wizard/fantasy theme!
Thank you for playing! Agree on the wind direction, and I'm glad you liked the theme! I wasn't sure how it would go over lol.
Hands down one of coolest games I've seen in this jam!!
I really like the mechanics. The hat changing to show which way the wind was blowing *CHEF KISS*. The way the wind had an effect on fireball trajectory was also really fun, and lead to some really cool moments.
My only feedback is that perhaps enemy fireballs could have been a different color, and I wish there was a bit more juice when you hit or kill enemies(but its a jam so i get that time was short, what you focused on was 100% the right call).
Really stellar game. Loved it.
That's awesome thank you for playing and I'm glad you liked it! The hat indicators were much better than my original solution of having a flag in the upper right corner lol.
And thanks for the feedback. You're right, with a little more time that was the next thing on my to-do list.
very good little game, the gameplay works well. The fights are well balanced in difficulty and interesting due to the change in wind. the only fault is that this wind is difficult to see. a small particle effect or wind sprites would have helped a lot with the readability of the game
Thank you for playing! Yeah there were a few finishing touches like the wind effects being more visible that would have helped. But good learning experience for the future!
I love this! Such a fun idea. Highly original and executed really well. I think you could continue to build this out into a bigger game if you had heart for it. How would other spells interact with constantly changing weather? My only suggestion would be to maybe try and make a clearer effect for the winds changing. The hat, while clever, is a bit hard to interpret by the player. Or maybe I just suck! haha. Nice work!
I'm glad you liked it and could see this being fleshed out morel! And thanks for the feedback, you are definitely not the only one to mention that lol. I'll add that to version 2.
Get interesting strategic depth with this one weird trick! Could maybe do with a dash or other movement option? It felt like if the enemies spawned wrong you might get killed without a chance to get out of the wind. Love the touch with the hats, great diagetic UI!
Thank you for playing! And good feedback on the movement options and enemy spawns.
