very good game!
the first realization of the spider crawling over the shelves was terrifying! a bit of creepy music and maybe a time limit with a goal for the night to make you move and take more risks, like having to collect 6 boxes by 5 am, and making it harder each time.
imagining a bigger warehouse where you have to climb ladders to reach the top shelves, and there's a forklift and a license for it, etc. i would love to play such a horror game! very promising prototype!
Great ideas! We would have loved to implement them with more time, thank you!
Interesting gameplay! I like the alternation between checking the cards and going to pick up the boxes. It could be interesting if you couldn’t move while checking the cards, or if you had to check them at a specific spot in the room. I actually like the minimal visuals, it makes the colors stand out and looks cool! A tiny bit more polish could go a long way! Like some kind of white noise ambience or other sounds, etc
Thanks for the feedback! Some background sounds would have been good for sure!
"Simple Pest Problem" Most understating sentence I've ever heard. The shelves and boxes could maybe use some color.
GG
The basic mechanics are there now you have to add assets (items on shelves, music, sound effect) and a challenge (example time limit). It would also be fun if you could throw the collected items to where you need to take them.
Hello! Thanks for trying out Night Shift.
I agree that adding more assets would make the game feel more polished, there just wasn't enough time.
However, it sounds like you only played the day shift, which is meant kind of like a tutorial. When you have picked up 6 boxes (2 complete orders), you will move on to the night shift. Which does have more challenging elements like a timer, and I won't spoil the other challenges, but you'll notice them soon enough. Please consider trying it out again, to get the full experience!
You can throw the boxes by pressing E or left click while holding them.
I thought Day/Night only changes the lighting instead it completely changes the mood of the game. The night entities are very angry.
