Working on updating the difficulty to make it more of a gradual increase.
Hope to have the build up in a few mins or so.
If there's a black background behind the title screen controls/credits, thats the new version!

Music, sounds, art are all very nice. The maple bars in the sky are great.

The controls were a little hard to get used to using.

Indeed, they take quite a bit to get used to for the directional/thrusting control, plus I'm only spawning an entire horde upon startup.
It's a bit too much to take in at once haha.

Really cool !! I liked the music and the art was really pretty.. although I really liked how the controls and shooting mechanics were set up, I feel as though everything was kind of chaotic and it was somewhat difficult to avoid the enemy attacks, but maybe I was just bad at the game :))

ynotboth? :)

Definitely agree it gets chaotic too quickly. Wish I had time to have a proper ramp up of difficulty
Something I'd like to add once I'm done recovering from gamejam burnout.
There are other enemy types that were focused more on their movement rather than bullet hell, but it was cheaper/faster to go the bullet hell route just to have something submitted on the last day.

Dashing is the "ohshit" button to get out of dodge. You can also dash through bullets/missile clumps to recover most of the energy spent.

TY for trying it out!

Those controls were CRISP and the game felt great! But every game needs critiques: The how to play screen was hard to look at and I wish killing the big eclairs felt more impactful, maybe screen shake or more sound? I would love to see a more structured game with these controls!

Ahh.. the woes of running out of time. We ran the clock as long as we could, fixing the title screen will probably be one of the first post-jam updates as it's an eye sore for me and especially for Stupjam.
Did consider screenshake but prioritized gameplay first.
We  also wanted an awesome  death animation for the big donuts falling out of the screen and some other effects, but it was close to 12am and I chose sleep XD.

Thanks for playing!!

Wow! Super nice game! The attacks are super satisfying and the movement is very responsive and fluid. Art and music was amazing too. Great work!

Really cool concept and design! Hope more jammers checked this out!

I don't undestand why you don't have any rating.

Your game is nice and fun to play

Thank you for the kind words!
We submitted late as life got in the way over the weekend.
But it's ok, we're happy to participate and have a submission  :)
