Skyglow was truly a great experience. The theme and message was so powerful and well-developed, and I could definitely see all the thought and effort you guys put into incorporating the jam’s topic. The art was beautiful, especially the backgrounds and character models. The music was also great, and I loved how different sections had different music. The only thing I’d add to the music is adding more of a crossfade when transitioning between sections, as it felt a little sudden. As for the gameplay, I was impressed how the even though environment was seemingly nonlinear and branching at times, I never got lost and every action I took felt guided by the game. The only thing I’d suggest adding would be some way to preview looking downwards. Since the character is on the bottom half of the screen, there were times when I had to drop down somewhere without actually being able to see where I was going. I loved the stars/constellation mechanic as well as the journal (really really cool to link websites), though I would maybe add a queue when a journal entry is added since I didn’t actually realize it had information in it until the latter half of the game.

Overall this game was a very impressive experience, and I enjoyed every bit of it. Great job!

Hey! Thanks for bringing this up! There are probably two things that could have been the cause of it. The first is that after drilling, you actually have to go pick up the ice core from the drill for it to show up in the panel. As for the second possible reason, the panel itself may sometimes have issues when it comes to dragging, and it’s your mouse’s release position that actually determines whether you drop it off in the tray or not. If your issue does not stem from either of these, please let us know as that would be an unknown bug! We really appreciate you taking the time to play our game and hopefully you had fun!

Thanks for the comment! Hope you enjoyed playing :)

Sure! Look at the painting in the center with tally marks.

Interesting game! I liked the concept a lot! I did find it a bit difficult to interact with the fires, and I felt like having an option to choose to switch colors would be nice since being locked to one color feels kind of frustrating when you pick up the wrong color and have to restart or die. Also, I feel like the player movement could be sped up a little, as a lot of the gameplay for me was just walking across the map, not necessarily doing the exciting stuff. Regardless, I had a lot of fun playing around with your game! Great work!

Hey, sorry for the confusion! It's actually supposed to be a hint used in conjunction with another hint hidden in the room.

Hey, thanks for your comment! I definitely agree with the difficulty thing. It's a little too hard haha. I mean, I could say this was a rage game and that it's a feature lol but that'd be kinda mean. The number of fish is random, with a minimum and maximum number, but I think also part of the difficulty is the minimum goes up really fast. The viewing time upgrade definitely seems useless but it makes a big difference haha. Thanks for the feedback and thanks for playing!  :)

Hey, thanks for your comment! It is a bit too challenging in my opinion (and many others) so you're not alone :) I'll be making balance changes so it's a bit easier post jam to address this. I'm glad the atmosphere was relaxing enough to take a bit of the frustrations away. Thanks for playing! :)

HAHA no yeah I totally get it, memory is definitely not my strong suit either. I do think I made it a little too hard, so I'll be making it a bit easier for sure. I really appreciate the kind words and positive feedback! Thanks for playing, and I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)

Haha, yeah I actually got inspiration from the human benchmark test! It's interesting since you're the first to mention that haha. The game is a bit too hard right now, so I'll be adjusting the difficulty post jam. I'm glad you were still able to enjoy the game despite it being suuuper hard haha :) Thanks for playing!

Thanks for playing! I'll definitely be adjusting the difficulty so it's a little less hard haha. Glad you enjoyed playing! :)

Thanks for the comment! I will be adjusting the difficulty since it's definitely a little too hard. I'm glad you still enjoyed it though! Thanks for playing! :)

Thanks for playing! I appreciate the kind words!

Hey, thanks for playing! The board is probably expanding a little too fast, so I'll adjust the difficulty for sure haha. But yeah, I hope you enjoyed playing! :)

Hey, thanks for playing! Haha, sorry I didn't mean to trick you with the art :) But yeah I agree the difficulty definitely needs to be turned down a little, and the tie to the theme isn't super direct either. I appreciate the feedback! Thanks for playing! :)

Hey! Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad the balance of the upgrades seemed good, as I wasn't sure if like one was an obvious choice. Thanks for playing! :)

Hey, thanks for playing! I really appreciate all the feedback! I love the idea of telling the player the number of fish as it can definitely lower the difficulty a little without really giving much away at all. I think difficulty is definitely a little too high right now, so this is a very clever way to address it! Thanks again for playing, and I'm glad you enjoyed!

Hey, thanks for the feedback! I agree with you on the difficulty, it's way too hard too fast. I'll definitely make it easier. The tie-in to the theme is a bit weak, I agree since the dice is kinda done half-heartedly and the only other tie is the randomness. But yeah, hopefully, you had fun! Thanks for playing! :)

Hey, thanks for playing! You made it pretty far tbh! But yeah, the difficulty is definitely something to improve on. Thanks for the feedback!

Hey, thanks so much for playing! You're definitely right about the difficulty, as it seems to be the consensus that it's too hard. I appreciate the detailed suggestions a lot. Again, thanks so much for playing and really appreciate the feedback! :)

Hey, thanks for playing! I'm glad it was able to bring back that feeling of nostalgia! :)

Haha, yeah sorry about that! I do need to adjust the difficulty as it ramps up too fast. Hopefully, you still had fun! Thanks for playing!

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed!

Hey, thanks for playing! I really appreciate all the feedback! The game wasn't intentionally made for mobile, but now knowing it also works for mobile, I've added that so it should say it works on phones. Thanks again for playing, and I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Hi, thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it! The mobile compatibility was honestly unintended haha, but I guess lucky coincidence? Anyway, thanks again for playing!

Hey, thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)

Hey! Thanks for playing! I took the theme a bit more in the aspect of randomness instead of physical dice, so the tie to the theme is weaker than using actual dice. Thanks so much for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed :)

Thanks for playing! I appreciate it!

Hey, thanks for playing! I'm glad you liked the shop feature and I appreciate the positive words! I'm glad you had fun :)

Hey, thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Hey! Thanks for playing! As to address your comments, I decided to take the topic, "Roll of the Dice" a little more in the theoretical sense rather than the literal, as I knew many people would take it literally and focus on using the most common D6 die and D20 die. Of course, being conscious of people who wouldn't see the tie to the theme as much, I did incorporate dice into my game, albeit a bit half-heartedly due to time constraints. Basically between every round, you "roll the dice" to get the board, and it's supposed to imply that each face of the dice have different fish on them, thus creating the board in the game. Also, as for the more definite incorporation, we have "Roll of the Dice" implying that there is an element of randomness, which comes from the board being randomly chosen every time, and also the fish you're supposed to flip over is randomly chosen as well. As for the "puzzle" aspect, it's not really supposed to be a puzzle, but rather a memory game. Hopefully that clears up the confusion about the theme. You're right, adding instructions is definitely something I can implement right now though haha. I thought it was self-explanatory but getting thrown into the game like that might not be the best idea. I do also think like others have mentioned, the difficulty is a bit high, so hopefully you were able to progress despite it being kind of hard. Thank you so much for the feedback, it's very helpful! If you have any specific ideas to improve the game, please let me know! Again, thanks for playing! :)

Cool game with nice and responsive movement. I saw your youtube video btw. Well done and congrats on finishing :)

Wow, this game is great! The art and music are phenomenal, and the animations and game feel are soo satisfying. Squishing mushrooms has become my new favorite pastime haha. The upgrades and leveling system are great, and the fact that you can choose from so many powers and options allows for great replayability and variety. Overall a very solid game! Great work!

Great game! The movement is very smooth and the art is just amazing. The dice mechanic is really neat as well and of course the animations are wonderful. Like others have mentioned, the platforming feels a bit too smoothed over, which creates a lack of precision. But overall, I really enjoyed playing. Nice work!

Interesting game! The idea is really unique and the art and music are both great. I love the animation of the spinning dice when attacking, and the special effects of each character is really neat! I do think one thing that could be more clear is the custom cursor, as I felt like it was a bit off-center so I was constantly misclicking the buttons and characters when attacking, which was a bit frustrating. I think it's because usually I'd assume the pointer is at the middle of the cursor image (or at least the default cursor points at where the pointer is), so having the left arm of the dice be the pointer feels weird. But overall I really enjoyed playing your game! Well done!

Wow, what a great game! This game felt really polished, with super satisfying shooting with the time slow and really nice art style, smooth camera, great music and sound effects. This game really has it all. The fact that you save your progression upon death is soo good too! So many great things about this game. I really loved playing it. Nice job!

Wow, this game is super clever! Probably one of the best of this type of game that I've played this jam! The controls are smooth and responsive, and the puzzles are a balanced level of difficulty. I also really liked the relaxing atmosphere the music and sound effects make, and the look of the game is very pleasing as well. Overall the game feels very polished. Well done!

Amazing game! Very intuitive and simple, but requires a lot of thinking! I ended up playing for a really long time without even realizing it! Amazing music and art, and the balance is really good as well. Nice job!

Cool game! I liked the aesthetic of the game a lot, and the animations were top-notch. I did have trouble solving these puzzles, but the video you linked was helpful and allowed me to progress when I got stuck. The buzzing sound effect, though, was really jarring, so an option for volume control would've been greatly appreciated. Overall though it's a very interesting game! Great job!

VERY interesting game! I loved the concept a lot, and the fact that you can get caught cheating is great! Well done!
