How is your game related to the Theme and Special Object?
The cats you control are upside down. Also what's a telephone?

Cute (the famous :3 cat!) and clever. I notice a lot of attention went into detail (the house objects). And as platinshadow, I enjoy the punny title, I also love coming up with such names. ^^ Well done.

By the way, I wonder if all paintings hold a cultural reference; the red flag one and the pistol duel one puzzled me, but I did recognize Rick Astley from level 7 (or so). X)

You know what? The last level reminds me of Prince of Persia (at least the Super Nintendo version). Not spoiling it, but suffice to say the word ‘mirror’. ;)

Hey! I know I'm replying extremely late, but when we released the game with Mavelan I didn't really have time to respond to comments and I just stumbled upon this nice comment of yours...

You asked about the paintings, so here you go: (if you haven't forgotten the game already XD)

1st level: both paintings are for tutorial

2nd level: the big "R" is tutorial and the second one is a fish - cats like to eat fish

3rd level: My favorite game - Red Dead Redemption 2 - so, cat in a cowboy hat :)

4th level: This establishes that the cats have a good relationship by both chilling on the beach - doesn't matter when you play the game, just a bit of hidden lore ;)

5th level: The top one is just a golf course... This was the first painting I made before adding any meaning behind it, so that's just there. The bottom picture, again, establishes that they're friends by chilling on the couch. Also, a funny little detail- the couch in the level is the same couch the photo is taken on and if you look closely in the photo behind them is the same picture.

6th level: Mavelan's favorite game - Enter the Gungeon - so a cat fighting enemies from said game

7th level: A Rickroll

The ending symbolizes friends reuniting. Thanks for playing :D

You know what? It has been (way too) much time I have had comments I need to check, but I have just clicked to see another recent comment, and was notified of yours which you posted right in between. XD Do not be sorry for answering late, I have done (and am still doing) far worse (out of deep social anxiety, but that is another story).

Thank you very much for the answer; so, there was way more to it! :) And I do remember the game, although not the details of all paintings. ;) I have a rather good memory, at least when I am interested, and I am interested in all games I test, so I could speak of all the games I reviewed on itch.io after quickly checking which one is which. :)

By the way, your comment gives me the opportunity to tell you two things I had thought for much time (I have trouble dealing with my things-to-do stack…):
1) I have not played it, but the game Get Meowt of Here seems to be close to yours in concept while also using cats. I have no clue whether you knew about it or not!
2) I loved your small text against social media. I hold a similar opinion. (Oh, checking the website again, I realize there is a misspelling: ‘Acheivements’. Just saying to help! Oh, and is the text gone?) My intuition tells me we may have close personality types; just my two cents.

Thanks for the quick reply!

That's funny, I never heard of that game! XD It really is similar... Down to the pun! Our game wasn't inspired by anything in particular, but we thought someone might have had the same idea.

I am currently in the process of redesigning my website, so that text you talked about will probably make a comeback, just not so soon. And maybe worded a bit differently. But my opinion still stands! Thanks for letting me know about that typo, btw. :) It's already fixed.

If you want, I'm always down to chat. Discord's on my website, but lemme know if it doesn't work - it likes to do that...

Good job! I like the gameplay and physics of this little objects, like books. Did drew the graphics yourself?

Developer

A telephone is something you can make calls on. Not to mix up with cellphone ;)
