I was really intrigued by the concept of this game and I think with a bit more feedback and tutorialization I would love it. I feel like the indicators are either wrong or I'm misunderstanding how to play the game. From the below screenshot I guessed the two spots marked with Xs, which appear to be the only possible locations based on the two directional devices I put down.

I really wanted to like this game but I failed to understand the basic mechanics after 4 tries so I ended up giving up. The concept is super interesting to me, I feel it just needs a little bit more clarity on how to interpret the device indicators.

Overall I think it's a cool concept and the audio and visuals are solid.

Thank you for the criticism, I understand I might not have a whole lot of time to explain the functionality of each of the objects but please allow me to offer some insight into the gameplay. The arrows point towards the direction of the probe. Since one of the scanners is pointing toward the point of intersection where the two circles intersect, the probe is most likely there.

Ahhh I see now the intersecting circles should've made it clear. The arrows, however, still seems incorrect. To me it seems like the lower right arrow is pointing NorthWest and the upper arrow is pointing SouthWest. Meanwhile based on the circles it seems the probe is located directly North of the lower right arrow, which neither of the arrows is pointing to.

It might just be me, but I can't play since the grid doesn't display.

The game looks very interesting and quite different from the rest of the Jam ideas. I think it would be appreciated to have some tutorial or additional instructions because it's a bit difficult to understand the game at first.

This is a really interesting concept but I'm struggling with the controls and probe location. The deploy retrieval drone button doesn't seem to do anything for me and/or it randomly triggers when I'm clicking around. I also can't find the probe location with anything other than the Patrol Glider, perhaps that's intended?

Developer

Hi. Thanks for pointing this out. I forgot to add some indication that you are supposed to click the button and then send the retrieval by clicking the screen where the probe is. Furthermore, the sonars and scanners have a limited range to search for the probe so it would be best to deploy in different areas. I'll make a few fixes accordingly to these.
