This is an incredibly cool jam entry. The gameplay of killing enemies to collect coins and going through special rooms was handled really well and I thought that the sound design and visuals were really cool. I found the upgrades incredibly fun to use as well and they provided a good bit of further enjoyment to the game. My only real problems with this game is that it honestly felt really easy and there wasn't too much variation in slaying the enemies (more enemy types or other stuff like this would help this out). I also thought it was a tad short for what it was trying to be. Overall, I really liked this one.

I’m glad you enjoyed it! The game didn’t have more enemies, partially because of me, the artist. Since all the animations were handmade, it took quite some time to finish. By 3/4 of the available time, we had to choose between adding more enemies or finishing and refining other parts of the game. But we are definitely moving toward expanding the bestiary in the post-jam release!

Awesome, nice to hear!

Good job! The things I loved the most where the art style, the characters; the mini-tutorial was also a very good idea!

A couple of improvements I think that are necessary to point out:

  • Like others have already said, there needs to be more feedback on hits (SFX when hitting enemies and visuals for the main character to be specific)
  • The coin pickup SFX gets amplified too much when picking up multiple of them and hurts the overall enjoyability of the experience (I was scared of picking them!)

Keep it going :)

Hey, thanks a lot! For this art style, I waited for the gameplay to be kinda solid so that it could go along with. I appreciate the feedback. We are improving the game feel and even reworking the coin collecting sound design!

Good job! The art style has a lot of personality and the main mechanics are fun. I would have liked to see some different enemies and maybe a bit more feedback when you hit an enemy ( a hit sound or something like that ). But considering this is a game made in a month, it’s quite polished. Congratulations! ^^

Hey! Thanks for the nice feedback and for taking time playing our game :D

We sure are thinking abount including more enemies in a post-jam version, maybe if we have enough time.

Wow! Great work for one month! I love the art style! Did you draw all of it yourself? I normally don't like it when the game starts without a menu, but in your case, it worked! I also enjoyed the start 'tutorial'—very simple but short and creative. The combat is also simple but not boring, which I enjoyed! Hope to see more soon :)

Hi, thanks for taking the time to review our game! Talking on behalf of the art, yes, it was all draw and animated in one month for this game using the opensource program Krita. We wanted to create an immersive experience right from the beginning, and it’s great to know that it worked for you. We'll keep polishing and refining the game. We truly appreciate your support!!
