What a cool game! I love the artistic aspect and the music fits perfectly. It was a challenge to complete it, but I did it! The difficulty is high, which I like, and with such short levels, it doesn’t feel bad to have to start over when you die, at least for me. The shuriken update is also great!

Some points that I would have liked to see are:

  • Some feedback when collecting coins and upgrades, a little sound would be enough to feel that you’ve achieved something good.
  • There’s a visual “bug” that causes the jump animation not to always execute and the result is the character with the running animation in the air, and it’s a shame because when the correct animation executes, it feels great, it’s very cool.
  • Something that I believe is essential for any platforming game is the “jump buffer” and “coyote time”, if you don’t know what it is, I recommend you look it up and apply it in your video games, it’s easy to implement and it adds an extra layer of control to the player.

Even without these points, the result is a very fun game that undoubtedly reminds me of the NES games, congratulations! ^^

Thank you so much for taking your time to record your gameplay! It’s really cool to see the experience others have had with the game and it helps a lot to analyze possible improvements and game flaws.

As for the bullets that don’t reset, it’s definitely a mistake xD I apologize for that, it will be fixed as soon as I can. And I like your suggestion for the boss to increase the intensity as you progress, I will keep it in mind ^^ Actually, I had different attack patterns in mind for the boss but in the end, time caught up with me xD  Thanks for the help <3

Thank you for the feedback ^^ I will adapt the controls as soon as the jam ends. I’m not sure about the jump on the W key because then you wouldn’t be able to attack upwards without jumping, but placing the attack button on the K key could work perfectly. Thanks for the advice <3

What a great experience! It really feels like an old-school Nintendo game. The graphics are fantastic, the music and sound effects fit perfect, and the gameplay with all the upgrades and diferents enemys feels amazing. Congratulations! 10/10

Thank you so much for your kind words ^^ Without a doubt, Hollow Knight was one of the inspirations for the main mechanics. I'm glad to hear that I managed to capture a bit of the Hollow Knight style :) I spent most of the development time fine-tuning the mechanics and learning how to create pixel art, so I had to quickly put together the level and design the boss fight at the last minute. Because of this, I couldn't refine everything as much as I would have liked. In fact, the last checkpoint for the boss is off-screen xD It was a bit stressful process, but it’s all worth it when you see people enjoying the game <3

Thank you for sharing your experience ^^ I understand that the game is quite challenging, which was my intention, but maybe I went a bit too far, making it difficult for many to complete it. Regarding the PC controls, I'm sorry if they're not well adapted. I always use a controller, even on PC, so I'm not very familiar with the best configuration for this type of game >.< Despite everything, I'm glad you managed to enjoy the game. Thank you for your kind words ^^

What a cool video game! The aesthetics are very beautiful, the idea of combining a platform game with a music one has delighted me, although it is a bit difficult to dodge things while you are focused on pressing the right notes… xD But still very enjoyable, you can tell that a lot of love has been put into it. I’ve struggled to progress, it’s a difficult game, and even more so for me as I personally hate jumping with the up arrow xD

Even with everything, a very beautiful experience, congratulations! ^^

What a cool aesthetic, it reminds me a lot of Animal Well and I love that ^^, and the atmosphere of the game also conveys a lot of exploring an unknown area. For some reason, the game starts to have very strong fps drops from a certain point and it becomes almost unplayable >.< even with that, I was able to enjoy the experience. Congratulations! ^^

What an original and funny idea! I like how the music accompanies the whole process of opening the door and such. Very fun ^^

A very simple idea very well executed ! The only thing I missed is a bit more feedback when you hit a mole, a more forceful sound or some visual feedback. I also liked the music, I couldn’t stop moving my head xD Good job !! ^^

The art is beautiful *-* and I like how you’ve adapted the limited NES controls into a tower defense game. Unfortunately, in level 3, the cursor bugs out and I can’t continue playing. Still, I was able to see the potential of the video game. Good job!

What an impeccable game! The art is very clean and cute, the music fits perfectly, the main mechanic is fun, and the level design is very good. Congratulations!

Thank you for your feedback ^^ I’m glad you had a good time. It seems there’s some issue with the resolutions . This is my first pixel art video game and I’m not very familiar with how resolutions work. I’ll try to fix it as soon as posible

I’m glad you enjoyed playing ^^ And yes, probably the difficulty isn’t very well balanced, I literally designed the entire level with just 2 hours left before the jam submission deadline xD. I didn’t have time to polish the little details as I would have liked, but I still hope it was playable. It was a bit stressful, but if someone was able to enjoy it, it was worth it ^^

What a good game !  It has simple but fun mechanics that are well implemented. The level design is excellent. I had a great time playing it ^^

Totally get what you’re saying about the game feeling slow in those two parts. I was considering adding a dash or run button,  but given the tight dev time, I decided to focus on other aspects of the game. Really appreciate you sharing your thoughts and I’m glad you enjoyed the game. Cheers! ^^

What a cool concept, the aesthetics and music give it a really nice vibe, good experience ^^

Love the chill aesthetics and music in your game. It’s simple but enjoyable. As others have suggested, consider adding ‘coyote time’. It’s easy to implement and instantly improves the feel of any platformer game. Overall, good experience. Nice work!

Playing this game was a chill experience, flying from roof to roof with that relaxing music really made me enjoy it. Well done!

Cool game, controls well, and good level design. For your first game and made in just 3 days, it’s quite an achievement. Good job, dude!

Awoseme aesthetics and the music fits perfectly with everything else, I enjoyed the experience, good job! ^^

The game feels super smooth to play, the art is cool, and the level design is on point. Keep it up, you’re doing great !!

What a cool idea! I like how it combines the two gameplay styles and the aesthetics look great. Good job!

The art and animations are awesome!! Great job!!

By far the best implementation of the jam’s theme, very original! And it’s very fun to speedrun. Congratulations ! ^^

Thank YOU dude ^^

Thanks for your words, I’m glad you enjoyed it ! <3

I’m glad you liked it ! <3

Thanks !! ^^

Thank you !! ^^

Thanks ^^ the controls are mainly designed for a gamepad as that’s what I usually use to play platform video games. So, it’s possible that I may not have made the best decision regarding the keyboard -.- Thanks for the feedback, I’ll keep it in mind for future games ^^

The main mechanic is really cool and very well executed , the level design is excellent and the visuals fits perfectly with everything else. Very good job!

THIS GAME IS AWESOME!!

The visuals are perfect, the controls feels perfect, and the sound design is perfect.

Splitting the game into 3 stages seems like a great decision to have small levels that can be completed very quickly, which encourages the player to replay it immediately and try to improve.

I’m impressed by what you’ve achieved in such a short time. My most sincere congratulations!!

Good job ! The mechanics are cool and well implemented. I like that there are multiple routes for those who want to go faster with an extra challenge. Congratulations!

Great job! The idea is very cool, the atmosphere conveys that Inscription-like feeling very well. The art and sounds fit together nicely, and everything looks very polished.

I found a way to optimize the game which is to do runs only with money cards: I start a run and only use money cards which I use to upgrade the money cards and repeat the process 2 or 3 times. Doing this, I get the necessary money to improve all the cards and win easily. Perhaps it would be necessary to nerf the money cards or put a penalty when you die to avoid doing this.

Unfortunately, I encountered a bug and couldn’t continue with my game. Here’s a screenshot of the bug in case it can help you fix it.

It seems the game shows that there are 2 enemies left to defeat, but their cards never appear and it doesn’t let me place mine on the board.

Despite everything, great work, congratulations!

What a cool idea! I’ve never seen anything like this before, I see a lot of potential in it.

I’m not sure if it’s an issue with my setup, but the performance is really poor, the dice move in slow motion and it takes a while to load each time I finish a round.

Aside from that, it’s a well-executed good idea. Congratulations!

Good job! The art style has a lot of personality and the main mechanics are fun. I would have liked to see some different enemies and maybe a bit more feedback when you hit an enemy ( a hit sound or something like that ). But considering this is a game made in a month, it’s quite polished. Congratulations! ^^

Thanks for your kind words! Honestly, after so many hours of work, I ended up a bit tired of the game. But seeing all the positive feedback we’re getting, I’m considering the idea of continuing to work on it ^^ THANKS !

I’m glad you enjoyed the game! Thanks for the feedback ^^
