Best game I've played so far. I also made an FPS but I couldn't make the lighting look good so I just used unlit materials and billboarded sprites instead. Did you use sprytile for modelling/texturing?

Developer

Hey thank you, that means a lot to me. I used blender exclusively but I just looked up sprytile and it's actually a blender plguin and looks amazing, I wish I had found that earlier. I was contemplating to write a tool like that for unity cause I got so annoyed building the level bit by bit. The enemies are all just basic spherers modified a bit and because I didn't know how to rig and animate properly in blender, all the animations are powered by code ( y-axis squash to look like breathing ).

Really enjoyed your game by the way!

The mouse seemed a bit finicky (almost like mouse acceleration was on).  I feel like you could make more use of shadows to better communicate where walls are.

Your modeling was really good.  Sound was good.  I liked your enemy variety.  Environment was inspired, especially for 48 hours.

Developer

Thank you very much for your feedback and kind words! Yeah I am not sure what is happening with the mouse speed, it uses the default mouse-axis input component of Unity and in a windows build it behaves normally.

Amazing use of the assets! Looks great. Only things are that I don't think you can die, my health went to 0 but I just carried on playing, plus if you run out of ammo and there's no more you're kinda in trouble. But awesome game!

Developer

Thank you for your kind words. I sadly ran out of time on the gameover mechanic so instead the player just doesn't die. I figured there was enough ammo placed around but:

a)  I didn't make it clear that the yellow portions on enemies are a weakspot that deal 2x damage, that might have saved ammo

and

b) I must have playtested the games too many times and rarely missed so the ammo was enough for me, should get someone else to playtest in the future!
