Overall idea is great. While it`s hard to complete the game, and gameplay is kinda boring, animation of the swarm is awesome. Moreover enemy attack animations are great too. On the other hand, game lacks gameplay features and any kind of tutorial, it`s quiet hard to kill anyone. One more thing that makes it unpleasant to play is level design, it`s too bright on grass and town levels, floor isn`t quiet in a place. I really do like the idea of the game, but it definitely needs polishing.
It’s a creative and great concept with a good amount of polish. The feeling of being a swarm to swoop down on enemies is great. However, I think the time-to-kill is too slow which doesn’t feel good to the player - it made me feel weak nibbling away at the enemy, relying on persistence rather than skill. To put it better, the enemies are basically “bullet-sponges” and its negative effects are exacerbated when I am unable to tell how much damage I’m doing. Because there are a lack of mechanics and tools for the player to use, the pacing needs to be improved for the player to stay engaged in the later levels. I can see a good amount of potential for this game if it is further developed with more focus placed on the mechanics and game design. Keep it up!
I never knew I wanted to see a game where you play as a pesilent, ungodly force - until I gave this a whirl.
I love the concept, it's imaginative and different. The particles and 'player character' are nice and some of the environment/level design is very nice (though I think the interior environments are much better than the outdoor ones).
I may have just been scrubbing it up - but I died A LOT. The time to kill on the enemies may be a little high, given how quickly they can kill the player. I liked the mages flinging fire bolts though!
Nice job :)
Thanks a lot for your feedback. I knew the game was too difficult for a jam game but I couldn't bring myself to tone it down. Especially the final boss who recieved a ton of buffs :")
If you liked HotS, be sure to check out Sea Salt on Steam. It was a huge inspiration for my game.
No problem, thanks for the recommendation :D
Cool game. Blizzard may not appreciate the name.
Is there a way to damage enemies besides just being close to them?
haha I did notice the similarity in the names. There’s no other way to damage enemies, although the initial plan included environmental kills like pushing a rock or cutting a rope to drop objects on enemies.
Thanks for playing :)
