I love how the game feels aesthetically, but wow, this is too hard for me, I'm bad at multitasking!

Very nice! The lighting and the sound design really gave the game some good polish. I liked the spin animation on the sword, too. That was a pretty quick and effective way of providing impact.

I'm not sure if this was the challenge you were going for, but I found that there was no real indication that the other character was being attacked (or in danger) when I was controlling the other. This made me feel like I had to keep both characters close to each other, since my eyes would be the only indicator, which I think makes the separation of duties feel more like a limitation than an opportunity. Maybe there is something you can explore there!

Really enjoyed this one. Took me 3 tries but eventually got the hang of it - early on it wasn't clear to me that the stun radius of the wizard was so large. I felt the mechanics and overall design were very good. Having the wizard 'on rails' and the knight more free to roam kept things varied without being unnecessarily complex. Thought the use of assets was good also, particularly in the time taken to properly decorate the scene. Nice work :)

It was fun playing, but I felt like I wasn't using as much of the area and kept my soldier close to the mage so I knew if I had to switch or not. Would be interesting to have more incentive to move around the map more.

I agree! I actually wanted you to have to defend each house but didn't have enough time to implement it. I'm glad you had fun and thanks for the feedback!

Ohh.. it's haaaaaaard. I'm a super slow gamer, I can't deal with this heat.

It's a fun concept though and very creative. Singleplayer-Coop seems like a cool thing. Animations are fun, sounds are cool, solid work!

Haha yea the balance tuning was a bit difficult! I wanted it to be a lil hard but manageable, but it was hard to find that sweet spot. I'd love to add coop in at some point too! Thanks for the feedback :)

Cool concept!  I like the idea of switching between two characters to co-op with yourself to stay alive!  The lighting looks really good and you managed to make a flat 2d game have plenty of depth.  A few comments:

  • A cooldown timer on the weapons
  • Animations for the sword/staff
  • More effects/particles on enemy death
  • Maybe item drops/hearts when killing enemies

Overall it seems like you achieved a lot in the 48h to make this.  I think another few hours of polishing and you'd have a great little survival game.  Really good job!

Should be fixed now!

Correct - game works. Took me 30 seconds to get the game mechanic. Game feels nice to play and is polished (I can see how many things are animated).  What I'd love to see is:
1) enemy HP
2) cooldown of wizzard's spell
