the filter over the visuals was a little much for me but it was really good fun!! the movement is super smooth and satisfying, great work!!!! :)

FIVE STARS BECAUSE THE MONKEY HITS THE GRIDDY WHEN IT DIES

I think the random level generation could use some work, but is still very cool in the time of the jam. It felt very hard to control, but that could be me. But the game looks and sounds amazing, only critique being the buildings in the background mess with the eyes a bit. Also, as some have said the respawn time takes a little too long, at first, I thought the game crashed and I needed to reload the page lol. This is a fairly original idea, since it really isn't like most platformers with the skateboard mechanics, side scrolling nature, and random generation. The theme seems to just be put in out of necessity, and not really utilized much in the overall game. But still a pretty nice game

Developer

Thank you! The random level generation was something I really wanted to get in before the Jam ended, and it did work out -- but yeah, it's not perfect. Thank you!

The skating is really cool, but the respawn time takes too long. Love the visual effects!

Developer

Just don't die, duh /s but yeah you're right, it's definitely way too long, haha. Thank you!

The sound is amazing, but the scanning effect plus the the scan lines make it hard to distinguish stuff on the screen. Even with all this, I can tell the art is really good, which is a shame.
Gameplay is good enough, a little hard to control as the acceleration starts a little slow, and ramps up very fast. An option to disable scanlines would be cool, but keep the curbing, I like that.

Developer

A lot of people have been asking for that option! We can for sure add it in (at some point), thanks for your review and we appreciate the compliments!

The respawn time is too slow for how easy you die. You also move to fast/can't see ahead enough to react to obstacles and the visual style is too busy to identify the obstacles. Sound is amazing and it's pretty neat to look at, but ails the gameplay.

Developer

Oh yeah the respawn time is ridiculous, haha, we kinda made it really long as a joke. You're right about the visuals though, lots in this thread have mentioned we should have added an option/options to change the scanlines and you're all absolutely right! It was on our list but there was a bit of a timecrunch. Thanks all for reviewing our game!

Mechanics feel good, but all of the visual effects are a bit hard to look at

Developer(+1)

Yeaaahhhh we tried to curb the effects a bit, but it was something we'd planned for the end, and we ran out of time as you can probably tell, haha.  Appreciate the comment though, thanks for playing!

Cool concept. The skating of the monkey is awesome, but the visuals of the game made it hard on the eyes for me. I would recommend adding an option to disable the post-processing effects.

Developer

Thank you, and yeah! That would have been a good thing to add in, haha, we just really liked the way the effect looked! We even decreased its effectiveness a bit, you don't wanna know what it looked like before--.
