Good start! I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum dare 42 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :)

Hey! I just wanted to let you know that a video of one of my playthrough/reviews is up and you're a part of it!
Take a look here:

Yes, previous commenters.  Feedback is very important for this type of game,  and there just wasn't any on the ships being hit.  Pretty fun and simple game though, a nice track and mechanics that worked =D

Great job!

Thank you! It was a challenge for me to come up with something that would be any fun and that I could actually make.  Great game jam!

Side note: My video was originally blocked in Japan for copystrike against the music that was used in your game haha!

Simple and fun! I actually got to the end of the song and won. It kind of ended the song really abruptly and it told me my score was 0. Like others said before me, I really wish there was more input when I get hit.

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! I was wandering if anyone would reach the end since at the end I just had to go to work and ended up reaching like 3/4 and totally forgot about ending.

Pretty neat! Some polish and it would be a great game. By the way, it is really hard to know when you were hit.

Developer

Thank you for the comment. I am really glad you liked the idea since I was really struggling to come up with some fun mechanic that can be combined with a song notes.

I agree with everyone else that it's really hard to tell when you've been hit. Sometimes it seemed like I was losing lives for no reason too. So yes, definitely seconding the suggestion of feedback. That said, I adore these sorts of games. I can easily see this being super addicting once some of the rough edges are smoothed out.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I really appreciate the words of encouragement as well as the feedback about what can be improved.

That was pretty fun! Only thing I'd change/add is there wasn't a lot of feedback for when you collected a crate or hit a boat; even something like a simple sound effect would go a long way. All in all, good job man.

Developer

Thanks for your feedback. I really appreciate you taking the time to play my little prototype.

Nice, fun game! There were some cases where I lost a life, but there was enough space. Besides that, a sound effect for hitting a ship or collecting a crate would have been nice, as well as some visual indication (blinking for example)

Thanks for playing and for pointing out what I could do to make the this better!

Simplistic, but fun.

A lot of the time when I went to maneuver between the boats and it seemed like there was enough space, it would cost a life. If you get over 100 score, the Score and Lives text overlaps.
