I definitely need to test this one with my table of regulars, we're used to playing the Call of Cthulhu and this seems right in our Nightmare alley.

It looks like great fun, with a strong theme and mechanics that leave enough space for the imagination without being too fuzzy. Only complaints I have might be the use of D8 as the basis for your dice pool (I own a ton of D6, but D8... not so much ^_^").

Great work coming up with a full doc in such a short amount of time, this is truly impressive.

This may be my dice goblin ways to trick you all into buying more dice.... *rubs hands* ... but on a serious note I weighed the odds for a D6 vs D8 vs D10 system. A lot of games use a D6 and Vampire the Masquerade uses a D10. D8 felt like a nice mid-way of not being as easy as a D6 and slightly easier than a D10.

This is wonderful! I usually like to play 1-sheet-systems, but this got me good!
I'll totally have a table of that running sometime soon. The instructions are clear, the feeling of dread is nonstop and I'm excited to put it to good use!
Thank you so much for that!

thank you so much for your kind words! If you record/stream the actual play please keep me in the loop! Again… your words have made my day! <3

As a regular TTRPG player i am really suprised that you made your own system in such short time and with that many content. Unfortunatly some sections cannot be ranked (like Audio) beacause of the character of this project.

Developer

Of course! No worries at all. Thank you, as a fellow TTRPG player and occasional GM I had a lot of fun making it.

I am at a loss for words here.

I have never played a table-top RPG in my life, therefore i have no clue how to tackle this entry. I am very, very sorry for this.

On the other hand, even without any experience in the genre, i could tell that you’ve put a lot of effort and dedication into this project. Highly commendable!

Wow, this is incredible work considering the time-frame!

I very rarely play ttrpg, but the setting is very compelling, and it looks like you created numerous and in-depth resources for the Puppet Master. As a reader, I especially enjoyed the gradual realisation that the guide is an unreliable narrator, maybe even the actual puppeteer, it fits the theme so well!

Horror is so not my cup of tea, but I'm still kind of curious to try and play it ^^

Thank you so much! I am also not usually a horror fan, but with the growing base of horror games, I decided to take a crack at it! I appreciate your kind words. The game can be as light or as dark as you like it to be!

Again I can't thank you enough! <3

I'm a big fan of DnD and horror, so this is so cool to me! You've obviously put a lot of thought and care into the gameplay, world-building, mechanics, and even different scenarios to guide the Puppet Master (love the play on "Dungeon Master!") - super impressed that you put this all together in such a short space of time. The document is formatted very clearly and with fitting graphics, to boot. It sounds like a lot of fun to play!

Developer

Thank you! As a fellow player and occasional GM it makes me very happy to hear you say that! I'm very happy with how it came out! I appreciate you.

As a game master, this system seems really fun and way more in-depth than most ttrpgs made for jams (seriously you are using a dice pool system and have expansions, that's crazy). As a reader i'm PISSED. GIVE ME MORE!!! Haha, kidding of course. But I am very intrigued by this setting and would love any further documentation into its history. Fantastic job!

Developer

Thank you! As a fellow game master, I am only willing to put out what I'd be willing to run myself! And your wish is my command! TTRPGs and the occasional video game is what I strive for as I have too many ideas to keep them to myself! Is there anything specific you'd like to see in a game? Again, my ideas are endless!

SN: There may be an ARG coming from this... but you didn't hear that from me.

Yeah! I was thinking, while reading, that it might be neat to add book/tv characters that can get sucked out of their mediums into twisted toyland (chase sequence with the very hungry caterpillar crawling out of it's book, or the players requisitioning help from fairy tale characters, or something with the Teletubbies). They could use burnout or something instead of booboos or batteries that is less weak than a toy but stronger than a child, and they are centered more on inspiration/bardy type mechanics (they are performers afterall).

Just an idea I had while reading, best of luck, and can't wait to see how this evolves!
