It's certainly unique, but that's about all I can say in it's favour. This game really just doesn't feel up my alley, but that's fine
Fun- Game was fun for the first few watches. It was satisfying to see the parts click and start spinning but then it gets boring kind of quickly. Sometimes screws and parts get flung offscreen and you can't retrieve them which makes it unplayable.
Balance- Not sure how to really rate this since it wasn't intended to be an incremental.Monkeys are slow and buying the higher tier monkeys don't seem to actually help, and there wasn't much of a progression at all. The skill cap also isn't very high so it's not as if you're incrementing your skill either.
Uniqueness- You don't see memory games very often, so this is probably the best thing about this game. Unfortunately not much else was done with this idea though.
Theme- I guess it kind of fits but if you replace clock with something else like a motor or something it wouldn't functionally be different.
If taken into consideration that it wasn't designed to be an incremental, it might've gotten higher in a non-incremental jam.
What's wrong?
the gameplay needs some clarity but for evrything else its perfect
Thanks for your feedback
This game looks great, and has some very satisfying clicks when placing pieces. Although, I’m not really getting a strong sense of progression / incremental vibe from it. Sure it has passive income through monkeys, but those just reward me for not playing the game :/
So… I kinda don’t see a clear goal? Once I’ve made a couple watches, I think I’ve seen everything. There’s only a couple configurations for the gears, and the special orders are just time limited versions that you just can’t do unless you buy a bunch of parts… but why? I literally just don’t see any reason to make a watch, let alone a special order.
Thanks for the feedback, but yeah, the general design of the game is very flawed. Initially we didn't even know we had to make an incremental/idle game for this jam, heck we didn't even know what an incremental was, and so the monkeys were added in later to qualify for the jam. As for a clear goal/progression, we didn't spend much time thinking about it and we are currently reevaluating people's roles in hopes of doing better next time. Thanks again for the feedback, it helps out a lot.
"You need a screw driver to PICK UP the screws"
Oh sorry, I didn't realize I've been doing it wrong my entire fucking life.
Now you know better :D
I'll make sure to share this glowing intelligence with my father who has been an Engineer for over 40 years.
thank you for making your father well informed
