Was gonna drop my high score here like a gamer, but then the twist hit me. I LOVED IT (no spoilers here). Fantastic work!

This looks like a fish RPG on the surface, but I soon found out that this is a fish RPG that knows what it means to be an RPG.

On the surface, this is a game similar to Feeding Frenzy, a flash fish-eating game. The mechanics that stand out are the upgrade system and the dash, which help out with mobility. I liked the gameplay loop of weaving between the rocks and swordfish, slowly upgrading your fish to improve your high score.

And then it got legs.

It's the point where the RPG part shines because the difficulty spikes with the addition of bottomless pits. The upgrade options became equally important, and failing a stage doesn't feel discouraging because it doubles as grinding.

The final boss tests your knowledge of everything you know on land, and it's satisfying to finally defeat him after many tries and upgrades. 10/10

Thanks for playing my game. I was interested to see how players would react to that twist, but also a little worried that the sudden change in game genres would feel jarring. Good to see that that's not the case, though.

Really great game.  I'm reminded of that fish game, Feeding Frenzy.  Nice that you added buffs.  I think the vertical movement could be improved.  If you increase the vertical speed I'm guessing you'd have to increase the enemy speed as well.  GJ!

Thanks! Making the vertical movement faster in those parts of the game would make sense, since the swordfish start coming really fast after a while. I'll make sure to check out your game when I can!
