Really nice art, and the theme fits perfectly!

Sadly, some parts of the gameplay feel a bit unclear to me. What do those arrows mean? I couldn't figure it out. And as Vase mentioned, it would be helpful to read the descriptions while in the other cycle.

Overall, a really nice submission!

Developer

Thanks!

Yeah the gameplay was something that just emerged as I was making it and I didn’t have a chance to refine the UX on it, lol. The arrows are adjacency buffs/debuffs on the other cells (from the perspective of the building you’re placing/hovering over)

I’ve already got a change ready to deploy for always showing the descriptions and for showing a preview of the arrow buff/debuffs which will hopefully help with some of the confusion.

8/10 game, but how do you get the last milestone? I'm totally clueless

Developer

Thank you!! What do you think I could change to bring it up to 9/10?

Spoiler You need 1000 days to elapse without either side winning.

personally I like polynomial growth, but I don't really know if that would fit in this game. don't stress it though, game's more than good enough, especially for a jam

I am just starting to play, but I think one thing I would really like to be able to do, is read the descriptions even if it isn't that time of the day/night. I'm a pretty slow reader, so I keep having to restart the description of items every cycle.

Oh, that's a really good point. That's an accessibility change I should make. I don't know if I can make that change mid-jam but it's on my todo list to do immediately post-jam.

loved it! the lore and flavor was great. needing to move everything around when things expanded to get optimal buffs to the right buildings was somewhat tedious though.

Developer

Thank you! Yeah, I think once I can modify it, I might tweak that so you can move buildings around without having to delete and re-add.

The UI looks great! And the theme works well. It would be nice to see where each building gives buffs and debuffs before buying them and/or where they buff squares off the visible map, so I could plan my layout a little more strategically.

Developer(+1)

Thanks, that gives me an idea on how to 'preview' the buffs/debuffs! 💡

I loved the concept and aesthetics of this game.  I liked seeing how they mirrored each other. Small detail but it's my favorite is that when you clicked on an icon, it was the color of the side. I had a lot of fun unlocking the various wonders/endeavors and learning about the lore/world.

Developer

Thank you so much :D I put a lot of effort into the small details.
