Someone finally did the shooting seagulls game !
Well done. That was fun :-)
What fun!
A simple concept but very well executed.
I love all the little touches, like the reloading animation, the powered up gun and best of all, how the bullet gets covered in goop when it passes through a bird!
The online leaderboard is a great touch too, although it did not work for me, just stuck on 'Fetching'. But I am guessing that is something to do with my network/firewall settings since it seems to have worked just fine for others.
Probably the only thing it's missing is a stronger sense of progression. More birds do seem to come out at the same time as the level goes on, so there's is some sense of progress already but it could be stronger. Maybe something like grouping the birds in waves of 10 and announcing each wave ('Wave 1', 'Wave 2', etc) before it starts?
Another thought, I love the 2x bonus for hitting two birds with the same shot, but that got me thinking, maybe some kind of combo/bonus multiplier for hitting consecutive shots? That might add a good bit of tension to the scoring since with every hit the stakes for a miss would get higher.
Well, that' s just my 2 cents, but it's really plenty great as is, good job!
Thanks for the feedback and the ideas. Really appreciate it.It does need basic network permissions to fetch the scores...maybe a browser version would fix that? The score idea is great. I couldn't think of a way to make better use of that coz it is tricky to pull off 2 birds with one shot so it should be more rewarding and also tense for the player while multi mode is active...
How did y'all get such high scores?? I thought I was crushing it when I upped the bird count to 100 and still scored so low on the leaderboard. Anyway, really super fun and enjoyable game, had a blast.
hehe. Keep hitting multis without missing and you can rack up the points. There is some luck involved though...
