Is this an asset flip from a tutorial?

Developer

Yes, it's my first game lol. More health and moving platforms are something not from the tutorial.

Ok, you're new. So, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you didn't realize that following a code along tutorial and uploading it assets and all to a game/code jam like this is generally considered to be in poor taste.

Developer

Thank you for your feeback. It has provide important insights and I surely learnt a few lessons. I will improve with your great advice :)

It looks like a replica of a tutorial with 1:1 assets from that tutorial. It's also submitted to multiple jams.
No originality brownie points for you :)

Developer

Yes, it's my first game. I learnt and added health system and moving platforms. May I ask if it's illegal to submit multiple jams? I'm new to gamedev and jams, sorry if I make a mistake.

No, not illegal. But it may be against the jam rules, depending on the jam. And I'd consider it contrary to the overall spirit of jamming.
The only actually illegal thing you can do in a jam is to use copyrighted assets or code without attribution and permission of their owners.

The graphics are nice, the music is relaxing... I don't see how this is "future" related though?  I agree with some of the other comments about the slow movement speed and no real clues as to which direction you need to go in to find coins (ie. no conveyance).

Suggestions for improvement would be to add acceleration and deceleration forces to player to make the movement feel more natural and fun, perhaps some signs to point you in the direction of coins, and maybe an exit that you can enter without the need to collect every coin (some players just want to progress faster than others).

Thanks for the suggestions, I could learn and add these mechanics for my next game :) Thank you for the kind words!

Beautiful looking and sounding. I like that it's tough despite looking cute.

The graphics and the controls are really clean and smooth, but without checkpoints, the game is a little bit frustrating!

Very nice. Some of the jumps are a little twitchy and it took me a while to figure out I could jump up into what looked like a wall. Beautiful entry. Not very future-ish but close enough.

Developer

Thank you for the kind words and the feedback! This is my first game, and I am glad I could improve it with your suggestions :) Thanks for playing!

It's good, and I like what I see. My main criticisms are that the character is not mobile enough (too slow, doesn't jump high enough). I'm also not a huge fan of the unexpectable bottomless pits, but otherwise this is a very well done game.

Developer

Thanks for the suggestions my friend,  I would surely improve and learn from your wise comment :)
