Thanks! 1 tip for dodging the enemy lasers: don't stop moving. They only shoot when they know it can hit you. But yeah, I should have implemented difficulty levels

Overall, a pretty fun game. I love the animations and the artwork, gives me a strong legend of zelda vibe. Audio is often neglected in competitions like this, but the music was pretty good, if not repetitive. My main gripes are as follows:

  • I love momentum/skill based movement, but the implementation here was not perfect and it made it feel more slippery than anything else
  • Some pixels on the player's sprite will randomly turn black depending on the frame of animation (in some cases, the whole outline)
  • It seems like there is no end-goal? I can't seem to find one

It's great, but it feels like a tech demo, or a proof of concept.

You're welcome, and sorry if I came off as overly critical. It was pretty fun, after all

For the high score function, you just have create a file which stores the high score in your resources folder, and upon death, add your current killstreak to the file (as long as it's greater than the previous one). Then, read from the file and print onto the screen

Well, for starters, I'm not sure what to do when you get a Game Over, I have to go in Task Manager and close the game. The controls are also super slippery and the level design is subpar. Why can't I kill the robots? It feels unfinished and unpolished

Very creative and fun, I can kind of see how it ties in with "future", because you have to plan ahead and whatnot. Nice amount of difficulty, but the graphics are lacking and the sound effects don't really match them.

I finished the game in 48 seconds and still have no idea what i did. I just spammed the green buttons

This is the first game in the whole Jam that I'm giving 5 stars, across the board. It's the most creative, playable, and frankly, fun game that I've played. I have no complaints, in fact, I was so lost in the game, I almost forgot I was supposed to rate this! Very well done.

Edit: Actually, there is one criticism: the difficulty spike at level 9 is kind of unfair, as all of the levels before it were ezpz

I'm not sure I understand what the objective is, nor how it relates to the future. The framerate is also stupidly low, and it feels like it doesn't understand where I click either

It's good, and very original, I just don't see how this relates to the theme?

It's very good, and it follows the theme pretty well, but most of my criticism comes from the fact that the character is kind of slow, and you the coin's hitbox should probably be more generous. You should probably also have less control in mid-air, and have it so the jump is less "floaty". Other than that, very nice!

thanks! Try going for 100 streak, you will be surprised!

Love the graphics and smooth transitions from place to place, however the gameplay can sometimes feel repetitive? However, this is very fun and futuristic.

What a surprise, Javid knocked it out of the park XD. My only complaint is that sometimes I feel like I don't have enough control of Puck, and the future theme feels kind of loose.

I love the straight forward nature of the game, my main problem is the collision detection. Sometimes I would see my bullet go straight through the alien, causing my death! Even worse is the fact that you have to refresh the page to respawn. I like the concept, and I audibly laughed at the name, but it needs some polish, especially since the graphics can get repetitive.

Very well done! Probably the best game so far in this Jam, unironically! The controls are air-tight, the physics spot on! My only real gripe with it is that it kind of loosely followed the theme.

It's good, and I like what I see. My main criticisms are that the character is not mobile enough (too slow, doesn't jump high enough). I'm also not a huge fan of the unexpectable bottomless pits, but otherwise this is a very well done game.

Horrible. You literally used a default unity template and didn't even follow the theme. Come on man.

I love the zelda vibe it gives, the sound effects are kinda loud tho. The controls are a bit slow, but overall, I love it! Very original

The sound design is IMPECCABLE. *chef's kiss*

Well, a few problems off the bat:

- Flappy bird doesn't flap in this game, he just kind of hovers when you hold space

- Flappy bird's sprite has an obvious square around it, you should have made it transparent

- The second I tried to run the game, my Antivirus detected it as a virus and moved it into quarantine (this is common, but it's made much worse by the fact that:)

- I had to grant ADMINISTRATOR PERMISSION to even run the thing. I have to inconvenience myself to:

- Disable my antivirus

- Download the damn thing

- Figure out how to even run it??

Just to even play this!

Not to mention it was a huge pain in the ass to delete!

do you have java installed on your computer? Maybe your JRE is on the wrong version?

can you please be more specific

Fair

What is the problem you're having?

I'm impressed by the graphics, but as soon as I finished I audibly said "That's it?" It's such a great concept, but because of how short it was, it feels like more of a tech demo of sorts? That's not to say it isn't good- it is VERY good, I just want more of it. I'm also curious how exactly this ties into the "future" theme?

That's not how vsync works.

Yeah, the finger is weird and clunky. Also really slow firing speed for some reason? Also, the shotgun and rifle are so underpowered, he might as well remove them.

Sorry! Yeah, I saw his second video. I'm just bad lol

There is a small bug where punching the little guys sometimes causes you to clip under the ground, because you get under them and they kinda push you down. Also, spamming space while moving side to side on a wall will allow you to effectively climb it? I don't think that's a feature.

Really good, although I have a few criticisms:

1. Double jump is very finnicky. It's almost a gamble whether I double jump or just plummet.

2. The big giga-chad robots take just one headshot with the revolver to kill. This is a little bit too easy. Maybe make it so that when its head falls off, it kinda grows legs and starts walking around and shooting you on its own, to make it just that much harder to kill.

otherwise, very good!
