Caprice you little bastard!!
This was neat, I liked the buildup of the setting and characterization of the waiter who had been employed for years to see some supernatural excitement but eventually had the passion (mostly) bored out of them. I felt a little confused on how well I was expected to know the founder of the restaurant and if they were referencing a real person or not, although the parallel nature of the location had some interesting implications that would be nice to see develop. I'd love to see the two waiters meet, or maybe they're already related somehow...
So this was really fun!! Thanks for giving us the chance to play it :D
I absolutely love the soundtrack. All of it really added to the vibes but I especially love the menu music. Something really melancholic and mysterious and pretty about it, with an unsettling tone. Gives me the same unsettled but mesmerised feeling I get listening to the Lavender Town theme from Pokemon RGBY.
I'm intrigued by the story. Magali is quite a cold protagonist, but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing - I imagine she will be more fleshed out in the finished version, and I saw hints about her character through how badly she wanted to reach her goal without help. If she ends up opening up more about the source of these insecurities, I think it will make her more likeable, especially if she experiences some personal growth in this new situation she has been thrown into. That's only a guess at where her character arc is heading though, of course. The waiter and Caprice are fun characters, and I love Gabriel.
The character sprites are great. Gabriel looks uncanny in a way that I find uncomfortable, but he also has strangely adorable expressions haha. The game mechanics also have some great potential! I think maybe it would have been fun for a bit of the point-and-click elements to happen in the 'normal' cafe before Magali went to the bathroom, because there were some things mentioned like paintings and cabinets that would be a great thing to slip in some easter eggs or hints about later game events. Just a thought I had while playing!
Anyway, I enjoyed this and I'm intrigued to see where it goes!
author writing about the occult is uninterested and grossed out by all signs of the occult. she sees man trapped in purgatory who has been there for countless years she says "ew go away". respectable
cool inventory and point and click system, cant wait ta see it used proper in later updates
Before I can make anything of this idea, it needs a rewrite...
It was a pretty cool preview! I'm impressed by the technical stuff like using screens and the like. It will be cool to see the finished game!

I appreciate the fact that everything is homemade.
It's kinda frustrating that it stops when it starts to get interesting. One week jam and all I know.
But I have to judge what is between my hands (or rather in front of me).
Magali is lowkey annoying.
In the case it was wanted, she's not insufferable enough.
In the case it was not wanted, you don't really feel sympathy or interest to her in her predicaments, so you're not really invested.
I don't really feel her personality except that she's an author with writer block.
