Challenging game. I included it in my Open Jam 2018 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)
Hey thanks for playing, I really appreciate it. Love the videos and keep up the good work.
Man, I love this game so much.
Well done ! I had fun and I like the idea :) sometimes it seems like there is a way between planets, but actually you can't which is a bit frustrating. Great job overall !
Congratulations you earned 5 Open Source Karma Stars!
Nice, feels great to play. Good amount of juice. Was terrifying to encounter my first interstellar death worm. Would like to see more weapon upgrades, abilities, enemy types, environments, smarter enemies, etc., but that's only because I'd like to play more of it.
There's a small flaw in your Gradius-style upgrade system I think. Once you get the other upgrades squared away, every can of Spam can restore your entire health, which feels overpowered. Maybe the upgrades should cycle, or become defunct options rather than skipped, so that HP always costs four cans of Space Spam. With the procedural generation, this game kind of reminds me of Galak-Z, did you play that?
Very direct theme! I like your instinct for shooting games. It is very fun to play this game!
Really enjoyed the game! I think adding some movement to the enemy AI, and perhaps ramping up the difficulty over time would make it even better.
Hey thanks for playing! Enemy AI was on my list of things to do, but unfortunately it was bugged and I ran out of time before the jam ended, so I had to cut it. When I get a chance, that will be added in along with some kind of level progression system. Cheers!
This is pretty fun! Gameplay is nice, art is simple but fun and fits, procedurally generated terrain is random but still fair (no "big" dead ends as far as I could see), movement and shooting fells good. It even has giant spam space worms (didn't paid much attention to the screenshots, nice surprise as I encountered one). Only real possibility for refinement is enemy AI, I think they just stand around, waiting for you and shooting as soon as you are close. Giving them movement and maybe line of sight would also make it a bit more challenging (if you play it safe and don't encounter a worm I see no real dangers).
So fun! That's maybe the easiest bullet hell I've played, but also the most enjoyable. I started exploring like it was a fixed-size map until I discovered the infinitiness of this world. (sorry, I haven't read the game's description)
Stopped playing at 20K score but will come for more.
Thank you!
