I spent a long time playing before I scrolled down and saw in the controls that I could move left and right. I actually had way more fun playing with just the rocket launcher. I'm not saying it would be better with the mechanic removed- I actually think it would be counterproductive to your sandbox design philosophy. I just wanted to share my experience. I will say that I think it would be perfect for me if the side to side movement was slower, just for small course corrections.
89s airtime big fun
Addictive and challenging. Good Stuff!
What is the lore behind the bird with the ice cream cone on it's head though?
Everyday after work in the rocket launcher test lab, Rocket Ranger buys himself an ice cream cone. But every time, one of the evil birds steals it. The birds put the empty waffles on their heads to taunt him. Now he decided that enough is enough and swore bloody vengeance on them.
...nah, actually, I have no idea. I just took that asset from open game art :)
Rockin! It was super satisfying to launch yourself, though a bit difficult to pull off. Most of the time I didn’t get anywhere, and you were one wrong move away from launching yourself way back to the ground. That might be what another commenter meant about the collisions – sometimes I thought I was hitting a balloon below me only to be launched downwards.
The moments of flight where so satisfying, the grounding not so much
This is super fun! Good job!
I like the "slam bam" of the whole thing.... makes it very fun!
Can you be more specific about how I could improve the collisions?
Such a fun game. The discovery of the ability to launch yourself off the ground with the force of a rocket was AMAZING.
Now I just hope that everyone actually discovers that and nobody thinks it's literally just standing around and shooting balloons. :)
I love 2D shooter and rocket jumps so this definitely scratch an itch for me. Also, fits the theme perfectly. Great job!
