Great first game ... even in tutorial situations, things can go wrong! so, good job!

Its great for a starting project (I REMEMBER MINE. IT WAS BAD). but you have lots of potential as a game dev working in Java. I would recommend to use https://jmonkeyengine.org/ if your looking to create 3d java games. Wish you luck on your journey + enter more game jams they will help.

Asteroids is an obvious classic, but I feel like you should of adapted it in your own way for the jam, even just a tiny bit
