I love the use of a second (easily available) board for the web layer, but it seems like it's just a disconnected space that plays largely the same, but with different abilities rather than wholy different mechanics?
Like a part of me wonders how it would be if the web board was just a game a chess, and one of the physical unit actions was "hack" which was to make a move in the chess game, and then any move that lets you take an opponent's piece is one that lets you activate a program that affects physical space.
Ambitious idea tho, and clever place to put a split for asymerty!
I was definitely considering having it just be cyberspace-based, but I just got off of a Ghost in the Shell binge of the newest series and really wanted to include the physical battlefield as well. I really like the idea of just playing a literal chess game on the other board, though, and using piece capture to activate the programs!
I love the concept and the dual maps, and the whole hacker-theme.
There are a couple of concepts I struggle to understand:
- Objective deployment (4 objectives? at the start of the game I assume?)
- Hack attacks are also hacks
- If a unit dies, it remains in the interweb?
Thanks for the feedback!
there’s so much neat stuff here. I can totally envision the maps (and really think more needs to be done with 3” Zombicide style squares). Love the double maps. Not sure how this will play, but I very much want to give it a shot.
Thanks! I had originally envisioned the Deadzone cube system, but unfortunately couldn't find my terrain and models for it among my mess of a house at the moment. One day I would love to expand this, especially the factions, Hack programs, and basic units/upgrades available.
