Description
A Story of Seasons is a game that takes place in the mind of the main character after a traumatic event. In order to tackle this trauma, the main character goes on a mental journey through four different regions, each that are eternally stuck in a different season. In each season/region the main character must explore and solve puzzles and talk to the inhabitants to understand how to cope with the effects of her trauma. It is mostly intended to be an exploration/storytelling type game, very light on combat (if any at all)

Each song in the soundtrack represents the four areas/seasons the main character travels through. The opening cinematic song plays during the exposition of the game, the transition from the real world to the world inside the main character's head.

Ultimately after completing the journey the main character gains the tools she needs to cope with her trauma in real life.

Message from the artist:
Note: All the tracks fade out because they are intended to loop, after the "intro" of each (you'll know what I'm talking about if you listen I think)

It's really nice, there are really cool shifts in intensity and ambiance and it shows that you really know how to use all the plug-ins and samples and instruments present here
Some production hiccups here and there but they are easily justified by the general vibe
it's not trying to be more than what it is : A balanced and well-composed OST
and it ends up being very effective in conveying the message behind the music ^^

I really like the mix of '90s lo-fi gaming sounds with actual guitar in "Fall!"

After seeing your comment, I agree that our stories were basically the same 😂 i just had a listen to your tracks and they were super nice to just close your eyes and listen to. Great variety of instrumentation and style, really like it. Keep up the good work!

Overall, a very solid effort. I like that there's some variety in style, with the Fall and Summer themes being in different genres.  The winter track sort of reminds me of some Super Castlevania 4 themes, which is very nice, and contrtibuted to it being my favourite track out of the set.

The only flaws I can hear is that some tracks end quite abruptly with the fade-out. They could've looped a bit without getting repetitive. But speaking of repetition, some tracks do have a little bit of repetition here and there that can get a little tiresome, such as Spring. It's still a great track, but on repeated listens it could grate a little. Also, some of the instruments sound a bit lo-fi.

All in all, a very solid set of songs that I've definitely enjoyed!

Hey... I checked the playlist on Soundcloud and it was empty?? I downloaded the songs tho and they were good :)

Aggggh looks like I somehow set the playlist to public, but all of the songs on it were still private. Thanks for the feedback though!

I think your playlist may be set to private on soundcloud

Glad you got it working! I was definitely grooving to this, especially during the last track which kinda sounds like a wholesome anime ending song - in the best way possible! Since you have a lot of acoustic orchestration, I think your writing would shine even more with more realistic samples, or some tweaks to make the sampled instruments you're working with have a bit more realism. Maybe more reverb... I'm not totally sure. It's well written so I had a good time regardless :)
