Description
Title: Runaway Robot

Genre: Metal, Dark Synthwave, Ambient

The idea I got from the theme "Runaway" was a robot escaping its factory by fighting its way out to the outside world with nature and such to be free. I've made the robots story around 3 separate tracks sort of intertwining with each other. The main things that describe my music is glitchy, heavy and kind of a dark atmosphere overall. I used FL studio playing around a lot with granular synthesis and guitar recordings.

The first track "The inside" is meant to be the track acting as the intro, a buildup into the second track. In my head it was acting as the breaking point for the robot to breakout of the factory and try to runaway. Most of the layers in this track are incredibly distorted and granulized. I would take synth patches I made in serum and put them through fruity granulizer, glitch machines fracture and just kinda see where I got with them to create some cool sounds.

The second track "Firefight" is to act as the battle theme for the robot breaking out of the factory getting into a shootout with the guards there or something like that. If this track was to be used in a game, I imagine it would act as like a dynamic battle theme similar to games like DMC 5 or metal gear rising. The song is divided into multiple sections that all fit into a battle theme but each section have like different levels of intensity. I tried to keep the consistent sound with this track as well. I also recorded some heavy guitar sections for this track which I think just sound cool.

The third track "The outside" is to showcase the outside world the robot gets to when it escapes. I tried making something like a ambient nature track mixed with the glitchy sound of the other two tracks. There nature sounds throughout the track like birds chirping, the sound of water and wind are thrown in there as well. I even put in my vocals and put a lot of effects over them to sound like a robot. Overall just a nice calm conclusion.

First time writing a small soundtrack like this I hope people who listen like it and any feedback and such is much appreciated, thanks!

Theme:

Runaway

How does it fit the theme?
This soundtrack fits the theme by following a robot who is running away from its factory it slaves away working in to the outside world. That's mainly the basic story idea I came with to write songs for the theme.

That's what I really expect for an action game, man! Beautiful bass lines, dude! Amazing work! Firefight is a masterpiece. Congratulations! We really need to do a collab. I will start to follow you... do you have an Instagram account? Let me know about your other jobs, please. God bless you, dude. And congratulations one more time.馃槑

Damn that makes me really happy to hear a song I made called a masterpiece. The only places I post stuff are on my youtube and spotify mainly. Still experimenting with what sound I wanna market myself as a producer though so I don't have an Instagram or many tracks out there at the moment.  I'm glad ya like the track though and maybe a collab would be sick!

Really good production quality here! Love the aggressive electronic genres! Matches the robot theme you described.

Firefight track rocks! Got Doom vibes ^_^
and The Outside is nice chill out ending...

That first track is so cool. Before the drums come in, it feels like waking up in Portal (without the radio of course!)—a sterile, futuristic facility, then comes a badass awakening with a taste of the action to come.

Second track hits so hard! I love all the different sections and transformation throughout the track—starting with robotic innocent synth and seamlessly growing into merciless murder metal.

The third track is a steep drop off in intensity. It makes me think the robot has discovered beauty in nature after having to embrace its pent up rage in order to fight its way to the outside.

I liked track 3, and loved 1-2! Great submission.

Cool electronic sound! It fits the image very well, and the synths represent the robot very well.

The Inside - Intriguing opening. Great use of foley too. I can just hear the power core whirring away. Love it when the breakbeat starts coming in and things seem to start up. Great processing on the percussion. Love how it slowly starts to build up into something more worrying, setting the stage for the second track perfectly.

Firefight - YES. I love this. I feel like I got sucked into an 80s action flick but with some really cool modern elements like the bitcrushed drums. Really love those synth pads as well. The best part for me is when you crank out the melodies in the part where the speed temporarily lets up. I'm getting some Carpenter Brut vibes from this.

Ooooh... hello guitars. I like how you then just up the stakes and go even harder. It's starting to almost veer slightly into metal now. Did the boss just go into its second form?

Then once again, a small melodic breakdown. Excellent.

This one is definitely my favourite. The variation and quality of the individual sections really is top notch.

The Outside - It seems things are peaceful again. I like that you still have some occassional robotic sounds here and there. Love the bassy lead that comes in around halfway. Followed by some nice bitcrushed noise.

Stellar soundtrack man! Really well done!
