Description
Long time ago tribes used to have strong emotional, economical and cultural connections between each other, but since the most magnificent of them all, Barkhid, went berserk slaughtering one tribe after another and claiming their god's relics for yet unknown reasons. Rumours say Barkhid's elder Maar Gul made a contract with a devil in order to gain immortality for him and his tribe.
Nowadays the tribes are isolated and secretive from each other, hiding in the thick mystical forest, hiding from Barkhid.
These legends are being told to me since I was born. Yet for all these years we have lived peaceful lives with no outsiders. I am nearly convinced that the legends are just fairy tales. Yet today, something feels off in a strange way. Chest feels heavy. Concentrating on work is harder than usual. Constant feel of light anxiety...

My original plan for this Jam was to write three tracks. One track as an intro, second track for forest ambience, third track for noble, orchestral revelation. Unfortunately my productivity was quite lackey, thus I managed to finish only one track, which would be the intro, the moment when Barkhid's tribe eventually attacks protagonist's village and that, in 3 rather intense minutes unravels into runaway into the forest, full of grief and a precious relic on the back.
The deeper you go into the forest the more bizarre creatures are met.
Relic whispers to the protagonist, guiding them thought the forest, in search of something, that can prevent Barkhid's rampage.
At first the track felt very sluggish, but after working on it more, adding more, reworking some, experimenting quite a lot the track came together much better than I expected. Moral story in the end is to not give up and finish your work.
I used Reaper DAW for this track, and actually am planning on staying at Reaper, instead of Ableton. Reaper feels more at home, albeit not so user friendly in terms of UI and stock plugins.
Message from the artist:
Hope you have a good listen! :)
Theme:
How does it fit the theme?
Runaway, as in escape from killer tribesmen, which may very well be possessed by demonic will.
As the story goes, the tribes reside in the forests, to stay as hidden as possible from any outsiders.

This was great! I am sorry I couldn't rate this in time. I absolutely enjoyed what you did though. I straight up felt like I was in battle listening to this. (Which is a good thing). Great job :)
There are just too many tracks to listen without no-lifing it, it's alright.
Better later than never!
Thank you! :)
The flute sounds good and mixes well with the drum you've chosen. Like the atmosphere this track builds, you really get that tribey feeling. Great job!
Thanks!
Awesome track. I love the combination these "wilderness" instruments with these savage drums. Very energetic and captivating. Also that flute solo with all the chromatic scales. paints a great picture. Thanks for sharing!
No, thank you for the feedback!
Nice track! I like the breathy wind at the beginning and the breathing choir at the end, make the whole thing feel alive! Great job!
Thank you!
Love the Eastern vibes! Makes me think of the music of games like Secret of Evermore and Illusion of Gaia, but without early console limitations. Good mix of instruments, love that driving percussion.
Thank you! :)
I jotted down some thoughts while listening:
Cool flute and choirs. Like how you pitch it while modulating the breathiness of the flute. I feel like we're entering some sort of arcane temple somewhere in the jungle. Oh yes. Great percs right out the door. Definitely working towards a jungle tribal feeling. Really dig the panned synth and how it punctuates the drums. Nice pad too.
Briefly got some middle eastern connotations with the melody. Nice interlude there. Riser and then more of those great percs. Was lovely hearing them return again.
The outro with the choir is also nicely done.
Great work man! You definitely sold the mood to me.
Ah thanks, appreciate it a lot!
The drums entering in 'Flock of Lost Arrows' really set the pace, which nicely contrasted with the more carefree flute melody, leading to a clever push/pull effect, culminating in a more subdued ending. Great listen.
Hi! I like story and harmony of music. The emotional change at the end is also very nice...
I like the scale and melody of the track, well done!
