Message from the artist
Goosoog is an adventurous goose, but he's not the brightest goose in the flock. One day, suffering from a fit of confusion, Gooosog decided to prepare for battle and slay the evil humans. He picked up his sword, and ... unfortunately, we do don't know what happens next since our game crashed as Goosoog made his way down the elevator.
Composer's Note For Battle Preparations (First Track):
I wanted to highlight the dichotomy between Goosoog's capabilities and his delusions. While Goosoog thinks himself to be some heroic saviour, he is actually a goose -- and thus quite weak and silly. I attempted to reflect both sides of the story with the contrasting A and B sections.
The track has an ABA structure (with short transitions between sections), where both A and B are palindromes. In both sections, the axis of symmetry (i.e. the point where the reversed part starts) lie in the middle of a bar (rather than in-between measures). As such, the reversed notes have a different grouping of measures, which with adjustments, allows for some level of rhythmic constance, examples being:
- The melodic hooks in section A are always at the end of each bar.
- The bassoon plays on beats 1 and 3 from bars 10-13 (despite crossing through the midpoint of section B in measure 11).
Difficulty
Make a piece that has the same musical notes both forwards and backwards but doesn’t have to be an identical recording.

I liked it!
I really liked how regal Battle preparations was! It was definitely the standout track and I lived the vibraslap!
It also reminded me of Ace Attorney music which is awesome!
I think this work is really creative and has a great theme (I did especially enjoy track 3). However, I think it's a little hard to follow - there are two submission links (I assume there were two composers), but for the first one you have to download a separate file to hear it reversed, and I don't think the reverse works all that well. That being said, I think tracks 2 and 3 do a good job of incorporating the palindromic theme, and despite that lacking in track 1, I do think track 1 creates a really nice sort of battle atmosphere.
