'Huge Business INC.' does an outstanding job of capturing office work vibe. While you are not normally supposed to take care of mysterious entities straight out of hell, it still feels like true horror in real life too!
On a more serious note, I like the detail you put on making cutscenes extra creepy with those subliminal frames appearing for a split second. The lifeless text-to-speech voicing also works well for creating unnerving atmosphere. My favorite part was the escape from horde of businessmen, reminiscent of Garry's Mod NextBots (actually promising material to base a horror game on in spite of being a meme!). Despite the humorous nature of the game, it was still quite exciting to run away from murderous 2D sprites and the energetic chase music definitely is one of the reasons for that.
I wish there was a way to skip the jail cutscene though as it takes more than one attempt to complete this part. Overall, it definitely would be fun to play a full game about escaping a huge office building filled with deadly entities and fast-paced mini-games!
Thank you for submitting your game to the 'Out of Stock' jam!
The game was more-so inspired by the Venge remastered chase sequences than Nextbots since the game started development before the YouTube nextbot videos started showing up in my recommended, the nextbot looking NPCs were almost like a happy side-effect XD
The cutscene skipping mechanic is kind of funny, I originally meant to add that in but i then realized that I'd have to hard-code every single event that happens in the cutscenes so it would happen after the cutscenes ended aswell, and since i myself managed to beat the game in under 2 minutes i thought it'd be fine to just remove it XD. I'll try to add in some way to fast-forward cutscenes after the voting ends however!
I am also thinking of indeed turning it into a full game, tho keeping myself motivated when i don't have a hard deadline and when possibly no one would play the game once it's finished is quite terrifying and it's kinda why i joined the game jam XD
Thank you for the really nice light-hearted review!! And thank you for hosting this game jam! I learnt a heck of a lot from it and i legit managed to publish a game for once, which is incredibly hard for me since I've been making games for the past like 5-6 years and i didn't manage to even publish one single game before this game. Seeing everyone playing my game and reviewing it has legit made my month xD
Great fun but contains the ugliest brick wall I have ever seen. Took me three tires but that is because I am dumb and didn't think to interact with the only other thing in the room. Haha
It wasn't very huge business of that plague doctor to get all up ons me! I don't know if I missed some instructions somewhere on the game page or in the game, but knowing the controls beforehand would've helped me escape a bit sooner; I figured out there was a flashlight on accident. The game page also mentions there're subtitles, but I couldn't figure out how to enable those either.
Overall, very fun! I escaped the huge business and now I can start my own huge business, as America intended.
Tbh i kinda just expected people to know you can press F for the flashlight since it's very common in horror games XD
The subtitles are supposed to be active by default, i'm not sure what went wrong there! Subtitles aren't available for videos tho since i got lazy and i didn't wanna risk the subtitles getting out of sync from the video and confusing people XD
Thank you for the feedback! I'll add the controls on the game's page
Hey, the intro story is really cool, I really enjoyed that, the moment you realize that the robots want to take over! Maybe my computer is a bit slow, but I was not able to escape the employees in the run chase scene, it was too hard.
Were you holding down shift the entire time? That's the only way I was able to escape. Turning on the flashlight with F helped me see where I was going, too.
I just played this and I like the 3d take. I really enjoyed the business speak and how business is depicted. UI is great music is great Im sure you can make a pretty spooky horror game.

I too agree, that is the ugliest brick wall i have seen in my life. And that is why i used it XD

Oh yeah that was the issue!
With shift it worked!
The chase sequence should be framerate independent since i used Godot's animation system XD
I'll specify that you need to hold shift to run somewhere on the game's page, if that was the issue.
Thank you for your feedback btw! Makes me really happy seeing this many people commenting on my mess of a game :D
The shift key helped yes!
The game is really cool.
The chase sequences are actually quite nerve wrecking!
And the speeches are really funny!
It's actually quite well made!
no escape
Okay lets go MR. BUSINESS
