Charming little game. The little AI buddies and the human interactions are the best part. The humans are so oblivious as their houses burn, they should be so grateful that water buddies are there to save the day. They should erect a water shrine for their great protectors, but instead they grumble and complain at losing just an eensy bit of water from their glass!
:) :) :)
I wasn't able to actually play this game because I'm (still) missing an adaptor I need to plug in a controller - BUT from watching other people play, it looked like it plays nicely, the concept is great, and the sense of humor throughout the game was awesome!
I think this is the funniest Fire Jam game; I was laughing quite a bit while playing it at how apathetic everyone was to their homes burning down. I didn't see the ending coming but turning into a raincloud was, oddly, extremely satisfying. Really like the designs of the droplet characters. I'm guessing they're low-poly because of time restraints, but it's an aesthetic I like (as a "90s kid").
Loved this game! Func concept and the music fit super well. Loved the progression into the cloud as well, made the ending satisfying. Only thing that I could see being a useful addition would be some sort of UI to count the remaining water droplets. Once I found them all it was super evident with the "return to start" text but before then I kept circling back because I wasn't sure.
Thanks! Glad you had fun! Joey did a great job with the music. That's actually something I wanted to add. If I make updates it's definitely on my list.
Fun and cute! I liked the ending.
I was worried that my buddies were getting stuck behind the fence, so it was fortunate that I didn't end up needing them all physically present with me.
Did you use NavMesh for this?
Thanks! Yes, I used NavMesh. Not sure if I set something up wrong or NavMesh is buggy. If you have suggestions, I'd love to hear them!
Very cute, fun game loop. I liked how all three homes had people home yet were letting their homes burn.
Thanks! I wanted the game to be whimsical even though homes were on fire. I thought the concept of the houses burning and people acting like everything was normal would make it lighthearted and funnier!
