Cool concept that's fun to get the hang of. A skip turn button would definitely be a welcomed addition. Atmosphere of the game was well made with the art, music and sfx. Nice work!

The art and player perspective look great here and this is a fun little experience! I agree that the attack mechanic seemed to be a little wonky so I just avoided enemies. I hadn't realized what the smaller blood tank was and didn't realize until I died the first time. A little blurb explaining that and that the ship's tank was literally in the ship would clear that up pretty quickly. I did love seeing the two tanks on the back of the player too.

Otherwise I also didn't make use of the jump button at all and craters would be a cool fix for that. A sfx for mining the crystals might be a nice touch too. Looks like one crystal always fills half the gauge but a sfx that rises in pitch could help communicate that idea too, just a thought. The game right now is really just missing music otherwise. Awesome submission!

I'm not seeing the build on your itch page, is it a web build or a download?

Agreed that the writing is entertaining here but also struggling a bit to understand the gameplay. Neat concept though, nice work especially if this was solo!

Took me a good bit to understand how to play but I had fun once I got the hand of it. Really wanted to be better than I am at it!

Hey hey thanks for taking the time to play our game and leave a comment. Please remember this is an entry to a game jam so they'll be bugs-  constructive criticism will be useful to devs 👍

Awesome work on this game! Really fun concept and the art fits so well! The narrative is super strong and interesting to uncover.

Fun game that had a great scope for the jam, really seems like it allowed you guys to focus in and add a lot of nice polish!

Fun game, nice variety with the attacks too. Levels were fun and had a good sense of progression. Nice work!

This was a solid submission for sure. Nice effort and great take on the theme with a little narrative for uniqueness!

I like the concept and for a solo dev in 48 hours you got a solid amount done. Would definitely be interested in seeing where this winds up if you were to give it more time. Nice work

Cool concept, and definitely rewarding working up to eating a shark

Nice game. If the role reversal was in the multiplayer that would've been a great way to get the theme in and I could see that giving some really fun moments. Either way though, multiplayer in a 48 hour jam is impressive

that snake's got some SPEED. Fun game

This game is so much fun and such a great idea. Looks like it came together really well! Great work

Fun idea I haven't tried before, takes some getting used to for sure. Nice work

Cool twist on the concept, the towers shooting before placing all your characters definitely adds some pressure

Art is great and the game is fun. A little fast paced at first but fun once you get the rhythm

Fun game once you get settled with it, nice work!

Solid concept that's fun to play. I agree that the hitboxes could be bigger and overall a little more forgiving but it's still fun to play around while you can

Fun game and a thee theme interpretation is very funny when it first comes to together. The shadow was a great feedback system for the player but I found it pretty hard to gauge the height appropriately in time fairly often. Still really fun, great work

Cool concept, a little confusing but fun to play. That level complete sfx sounds like it'll blow out my speakers though

Cool concept and fun to play overall. I also found the starting corridor to be pretty confusing but afterwards things went well. The one moving platform was a tough spot because you can't see it very well to try and time out the camera's movement. The music did add a nice elegance to dancing on live tv

Awesome game! Had a lot of fun and was definitely challenged on that last level. Felt good once I finally solved it. I like the take on the theme and the feedback from the sfx worked really well. This game was easy to pick up and did a great job showing the potential to take it past the jam. Great work!

Solidly put together and fun to play. The timer is pretty harsh from the get go, maybe incrementally making it shorter over the levels would help the player get a feel early on. Otherwise it definitely has that rage game feel of constant trial and error to figure out what to do.

(1 edit)

Fun game to play, short and to the point! I liked playing with the positions in the console, fun way to change up the gameplay and fit the theme in. The boss level could've maybe used a delay in the enemy firing until the player moves, figuring that out was tricky in such a short amount of time.

Fun game, a little harsh once I realized that you could destroy your own eggs haha. The challenge makes it fun

Nice juxtaposition of a big, scary creature doing simple, nice things for the local community

Fun game once I got the hang of it. Working without a reticle was a challenge but made it interesting at the same time. I could see multiplying the score based on the time it takes to destroy a dumpster, with a shorter time resulting in a higher multiplier. Could make the score more impactful. Nice work

Could easily see this being a fun and chaotic co-op game, I tried manning the truck solo to make sure I could get a feel in time for voting but I'll have to see this with a team. Love how the positions swap, it fits so well into the chaos. This is one of those games that would need the team chat in the trailer haha!

I agree that this is a solid prototype and proof of concept. I could easily see this being expanded upon in the future. I was running into some issues actually being able to feed the forge (although I did play in the browser) but it didn't actually get in the way of finishing the game. Solid work!

Loved this game! Func concept and the music fit super well. Loved the progression into the cloud as well, made the ending satisfying. Only thing that I could see being a useful addition would be some sort of UI to count the remaining water droplets. Once I found them all it was super evident with the "return to start" text but before then I kept circling back because I wasn't sure.

Sweet game, gets chaotic real quick haha!

Really fun gameplay and the mechanics were executed well. I found the use of colors did well to account for the simple art style. Nice work

I agree that audio would've added a lot, especially with the atmosphere you created. Really like that "missed shots" = "enemies" concept, adds some depth to the theme interpretation. Nice work

Nice take on what came off like a card game/visual novel hybrid. The text was a little small unless it was full screened and my game ended up not showing options at the end of one storyline so I was stuck but it was fun up until then.

This page says the music was original (it'd be great to see the team credits on the itch page) and I liked it. A game like this could really offer some ways of making the music more interactive and responsive to player decisions, and that would be another way to really suck the player in in terms of immersion. Just an idea. Nice work though!

Very well done narrative- really nice progression and tied to the theme so well! Yousayrandy had a great review that really summarized my thoughts as well. With this being a one-person team I'd say you've done very well! I especially like the character/tone in the writing, had a Strange Planet sense of humor and wit to it. Nice work :D

Very fun and entertaining submission. I had a great time! It's a little easy but for a solo run game in a week can't really fault you there. Game played great, super responsive and had a lot of character. Seems pretty clear you had a fun time with this!

Cool idea here, the theme take was a nice change of pace that really matched the vibes of the game and music nicely. The ui was a little hard to read but I think I got the idea. Would love to see more from this game!

Nice little development on Snake. The controls were definitely a brain bender in depending on what  direction the snake was facing but that almost added a nice fast paced sense of difficulty in a way.
