I like the "Snake but X" design philosophy and having this timeless classic re-imagined in 3D with physics was really fun. The downside to the physics is that it is near impossible to carve out a strategic path around the play area to avoid doubling back on yourself like you can in the original. Still, I loved the fact that my body could pile up in the middle.
I got close to 50 points on my third attempt until a ball spawned in the middle of my coils and I was unable to progress. Instead, I took to coiling around the ball like a mother snake protecting an egg.
Death sound is strong contender for best jump scare in 2021!
I really liked being able to pick between snake types and seeing their different stats. In fact, I wish their stats were even more different?
Cobra is totally my favourite because I think the hooded first segment is such a nice touch. Makes me feel badass to slither around looking like that.
Like @Jwho303, ony of my favourite moments was rolling the ball around my body and knocking it around. It made me wonder if there's more gamplay to explore there... like is a snake vs snake soccer game possible? Or some kind of deathmatch with a ball weapon?
Cool jam. Looking forward to playing more stuff from you :)
I've been trying to get more variation from the snakes in the past couple of days. Balancing the movement has to be the trickiest part. I'll upload an update soon from some of the changes I made.
I have to admit that Snake Soccer sounds pretty cool! I would have never thought of it.
I wouldn't have to make a lot of changes to how the underlying game mechanic works in order to get a game mode like that up and running.
Your feedback gave me a few things to think about. Thanks!!
The Scream!!! That gave me a fright, now we are even ;) My fave was the cape cobra! It feels good when you can knock the ball off of your body into your mouth. I was craving for the snake to go faster and faster. Well done I hope to see more from you in the future.
Great job, Kgomotso! I also made a game inspired by Snake... great minds definitely do think alike ; )
Really cool use of 3D and I love the idea of being able to choose between different mecha with their different strengths. Only thought I had was, for added difficulty, maybe touching the fence could also kill the snake? you know, if it was electrified ; ) But overall great work and best of luck for the jam!
(PS. Not sure if this is a bug but the high score is reset to 0 if you restart the game.)
Thank you for playing my game, Itizo! You and I are officially snake bros.
I'll definitely try and see if I can make further improvements based on your feedback. I made the ui on the last day so I didn't have time to make a save file feature, but its definitely first on my to-do list.
Thanks again for playing! Lets hiss together in unison snake bro. Pssss! Pssss!

Thank you for your feedback.
I will make the game spawn the pallets further from the center
of the level as the snake grows.
Thanks a lot for playing!
This was wicked!
