- This is one of the better games I've played in this jam. I can't put my finger on why exactly, but this game was really fun to play. It was simplistic, easy to pick up, and surprisingly addicting! I had fun just taking over the entire map with lit torches haha! I did start to notice some lighting bugs occur in the top left quadrant of the map when too many torches would be placed. Lots of flickering. Song was addicting. Found myself humming it multiple times. Overall, really good game, and good use of the theme of spreading! Great job!

Tell us about your game!
Pyrelight is a game where you Ignite four pyres to spread light into the darkness and defeat evil. The player will collect sticks and craft torches to spread the magical fire from the center of the map to each of the pyres that are located in the four corners of the map. Monsters are roaming in the darkness and they are defeated if they enter the magical light. Evil is conquered when all 4 pyres are ignited.

A very simple yet very well executed game! Everything comes together real nice, from the art, to the music, to the sound effects (loved the sound of the dark monster printing towards me).
It feels pretty complete as is, which is great for a 2 week game jam well done! But if you wanted to explore it more, you could definitely add more mechanics to this as a base, or mess with the light stuff more with torches potentially going out over time, just a thought.

This is a fun game with a really spooky monster. Freaked me out so hardcore when I was playing. Nice execution.
