- This was really neat and fun to play. I ended up going through it all! I liked the mixing and usages of light that really gave a fun mix and twist on the theme. The was very good for a small game and I hope you keep working on it.
- I found the art style to be nicely done, and the story to be intriguing enough that I wanted to see where it would take me. My only issue with this is was that one of the controls didn't work at all, so I couldn't actually progress further in the story. Using "r' to rotate objects just locked my screen in place, and unless I pressed the same button again, there was nothing else I could actually do. All the other controls worked just fine though. Besides this, I'd like to see if this was an issue on my end or something else, and try things out again. Do keep up the good work, all the same

Tale of the Shadow Cats is a comfy puzzle game in which the Shadow Cat Clan reaches out to the player to recruit them. Through a set of trials, the player slowly learns the different mechanics.
The main one being light chemistry, light sources and the different colors can be mixed for unique effects. Even the absence of light or as we call it, shadows, can potentially reveal the unseen to the player, helping them progress :)
Extra Notes
We are all beginners, we learnt a lot and we thoroughly enjoyed every second of this. None of us have ever collaborated on a game. We had programmers, artists and musicians come together to create something that we can call truly ours. We've seen some entries and we are excited to see what everyone else has come up with. However small our game might seem in comparison to what others have built - this was a truly fun experience. From everyone at team Cat Jam, thank you so much!

I is the winner. I like the light puzzles. I think they are clever and offer enough variety where you can make a whole game out of it. I would update the controls for turning and rotating the lamps as I kept turning things offer when I wanted to stop rotating . Perhaps on-screen controls to remind me what to do would be good. Also, it looks like the camera is not set to scale which made it hard to see anything unless I was full screen mode. If you are using an Orthographic camera this should not a problem especially since I don't really see much UI except for the dialogue. Other than that, I think this is a great first project! Good job on completing and submitting a project
Thank you so much for the kind feedback. We did place controls in the top right corner for anything that can be interacted with, such as toggling rotation mode. Initially it was only labeled as "rotate" but that point of concern was brought up in a later playtest where time was somewhat scarce, so hoping it'd make things a little easier, we swapped the label to say "Rotate Mode" instead.
Absolutely understand where you're coming from. During development we did spend some time seeing if we could get live input independent on-screen controls to work but didn't get them to format properly to something easily understood.
We also have controller support and sadly didn't manage to get the control labels to match humanly understandable language in time. So we pushed the on screen controls back to prioritize other things. (Though the controller support is still there, it's just a bit of guess the button, haha.) That's also how the makeshift controls hint in the main menu came to be ๐
That just to share some insights.
Really appreciate the tip regarding the camera ๐ Adjusting the camera would indeed help with visibility. That's definitely something to look out for in the future.

I liked the presentation and the story bits.
This is a lovely short game! I love the light puzzles and for a small team of first timers, this game is a fun brain teaser!
