  • maybe a few different attacks would make it more fun. maybe an AOE with a cooldown.

Yes

Tell us about your game!
Simple roguelite dungeon crawler game. Play as a wizard that has a belt of potions for his power. You don't start off very strong with only a weak potion of light on your belt which gives you a small area of vision. You also cast spells slowly and they are not very powerful. Wanted to get it out there for testing but will be (hopefully) adding in the progression features before the jam is over. Feedback greatly appreciated.

Controls
mouse and keyboard - W A S D to move, left click to fire spells and restart after death.

Extra Notes
Second game jam and second project for me, hope you enjoy my little piece of crap :).

Lmao it took me a while to realise it was a wizard stick and he wasn’t cruising around with a big iron blasting slime but nice game, fantastic art and animations.

So First your GDD needs to be a google link not a downloadable.

Second do not make the game go full screen because many like myself don't want to play in a full screen game we can't get out of.

Third it needs some kind of hud for the spell casting and some kind of direction indicator where your shooting the fireballs as I can't see in the dark and guessing with my constant mouse spamming.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

1. The GDD is a google doc link.  I couldn't find an option on the itch.io upload page to put in on the page that doesn't show up as a "downloadable" even though it's not a download.  I'll put a link to the GDD in the description as well for people who are hesitant about clicking the "not a downloadable" download button.

2. I'm still working on the full screen issue.  For some reason, the code I used for my first game isn't working the way it's supposed to on this game so this is still something I'm trying to fix.  Should be able to get this one fixed today I think.

3.Haven't gotten into the HUD yet.  I'm super noob still so I spent a lot of time just getting the movements and attacks for the player and enemies.  The cursor should show you where your spell is going to go but I get it, once they go into the dark you have no idea where they're going to hit.  I'm still experimenting with the spells lighting up the dark slightly so you can see them as they travel so you can have a better idea of where they're going to hit.
