I think the concept you have here is great, it really incentivizes the player to take their time and think about their choices. I think where the game fell a little flat for me is that it doesn't clearly enough let the player know what those choices are and what the goal is.
I found myself confused as soon as I started. What am I doing what's my goal? why is my screen all black. (I figured that last one out quickly but for a second I thought it broke lol).
I feel like an expanded tutorial to start would greatly help new players so they understand what they are supposed to be doing. A key of what the different objects on the ground are and what they will do. why the player should be looking for them etc...
Also having to completely restart every time you die was pretty frustrating.

- Good use of shadow, but alchemy fell flat. Character movement was simple and easy to get around. Using shadows to block monsters was creative. Make more games!

Our game is a turn-based dungeon crawler! We went this route because of our capabilities and what we thought we could reasonably push, and it created a great medium for the theme -- Shadows and Alchemy.
The main character will traverse the dungeon while absorbing shadows to transmute them into upgrades and abilities. In this regards, the player is exploring the shadows in their mind. They'll use their powers to defeat demons, and if a demon is too big to defeat, well... they'll have to change its form.
Extra Notes
Thank you Thor and team for running these events. The message you put out there is lifesaving. You've motivated me to do something I wanted to do for over a decade. Keep being awesome and we'll keep going forward.
