  • Okay, HUGE props on the alchemy/weapon making system, that is cool as HELL. Every attack feels punchy and good and the amount of variety felt like I was playing baby noita! I mean the shadow element is entirely missing mechanically so you lost points jam-wise, but by itself your game is a FANTASTIC demo and I would play so much more of it if it had more levels, especially if you made different combos better in some situations vs others. HUGE potential here! Amazing work

Craft 19 different weapons by combining up to three alchemical ingredients to fight back the shadow monster that you accidentally set loose in this 2d action platformer.

Extra Notes
This is always such an awesome event. Thanks for all the hard work from so many people behind the scenes to coordinate it and make it happen. You all rock!

Cool game really loved the graphics and the sound effects. The explosions were so juicy!!!!!!!!! You still couldn't get the text rectangle to fade out but I found no other bug. Nice one I'd rate this 5/5 if I was a judge.

Haha, thank you so much for playing! I had a blast getting it built.

This is awesome. I loooove combining different elements together to make unique weapons. My favorite was the projectile which emitted other, smaller, projectiles along its path. Really cool idea, and executed well enough to be satisfying.

Developer

Thanks so much for playing! I'm glad you were able to enjoy it.

Craft 19 different weapons yet all I wanted was the giga sword swing, so satisfying. Really liked this one, nice work!

The three primary ingredients broke my heart :((((

Also having 3 of the ranged makes it not fire??

Amazing stuff though!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! 3 ranged DOES fire, but it uses the lighting engine which I couldn't fix before the final deadline. It shoots a big laser across the length of the screen and it functions, it's just super hard to see :\

Very cool weapon creation mechanic!  I'd love if you figured out inventory or some other way for us to play around with mechanics for a future game!

Developer

Thanks so much for playing! An inventory would be interesting if this were to become a metroidvania with a lot more ingredient types!

Awesome game! Cool weapon creation mechanic and interesting story!

Developer

Thanks so much! I've wanted to try this build-your-own mechanic for a while, so alchemy seemed like a great opportunity to jump in!

This was awesome!

The core gameplay of combining the three elements to create cool weapons is sick. It was super satisfying walking around shooting exploding balls and destroying all the enemies, or dishing out giant slash attacks that hit almost every enemy on screen! The game runs well and I didn't experience any frame drops.

It was a bit tough picking up new items, as I would almost instantly pick up the old item that was dropped. But nonetheless no real big complaints.

I like the idea and I think it was executed well!

Developer

Thanks so much for playing! Ya, the item pickups are a bit rough haha. I got some ideas on how to improve that UX after the jam, so I may do a post-jam update on that. I appreciate the feedback!
