  • The art style and music definitely caught my attention in the very beginning, though I would have liked to hear more tunes from this, I gotta be patient and let folks cook. The controls were easy to follow after a bit of trial and error in the beginning with reloading the weapon (after crafting with whatever items I had available/found). This may be me nitpicking, but I felt that the enemies shouldn't take a lot of hits to defeat, otherwise, there's no real issue here. I found the overall way the theme was implemented to be interesting; with my interpretation seeing shadows as the environment you traverse and the enemies you had to face, along with some sound effects that made it seem like the player was getting closer to some kind of unknown entity (I heard what sounded like a banging noise and maybe footsteps, from what I remember when playing). The use of alchemy, felt like having to combine and/or use items to create whatever potion you needed at the time, to take care of yourself and fend of enemies was a nice touch as well. You did a good job, in my opinion, keep up the good work.
  • What a lovely character model and game overall! Simple game mechanics that work and have nice little touches. I enjoyed when the inventory was active and the character was holding the big pot instead of the gun. It's a little thing, but I really liked it. Helped with my immersion. Loading potions into a gun is a great mechanic. The light and shadow part of the world was really cool. I found myself sad I hadn't explored or seen a certain area and wanted to go back to be more careful haha. I wasn't sure what the different potions did, but had a blast exploring and making them. GG!

Tell us about your game!
Make potions with items in your inventory (opened with tab) to explore the darkness and battle the shadows! When starting, your weapon will be empty, be sure to make a potion in your inventory. Drag materials to the cauldron then drag in a bottle to finish the potion. When you have a potion, drag it into your active potion slots, then exit the inventory. Select the potion you want to load into your potiongun with the scroll wheel and push the R key to load it. Ingredients will have different effects on your potions and can be combined in a single bottle, so feel free to experiment! A and D are used to move and spacebar is used to jump. The mouse is used to aim and fire. E is to pick up items you find which can be dragged into the cauldron in your inventory to make potions.

This was fun! I like the concept of the potion gun, but I had a hard time discerning some of the different ingredient's effects were. Maybe adding some visual indicators to the shots would help telegraph that information more. I think it's really cool that you got procedurally generated levels working in such a short span of time. I also like the alchemist character!

Thank you for playing! Feedback on potion effects is something we definitely want to improve on going forward, some ideas we had were adding explosion and "muzzle flash" effects that change depending on the potion. I also had some sound effects made for firing different potions (but we ran out of time to implement them ;-; ). I appreciate you taking the time to provide your thoughts, and I'll pass your what you said about the alchemist onto thecrabchip, It'll make his day :)
