  • Please don't put in near pixel-perfect jumps in your game for game jams. I just want to play the game, not master it :D I did enjoy the art direction of the game. Sound would have been an added bonus. I wasn't sure about the mechanics of the game though. It seemed like just bypassing the enemies always solved the problem of them being there. Keep at it. I think there's a lot of potential!

Tell us about your game!
You play as an alchemist gathering rare shadow essence,with your trusty vacuum, from corrupted creatures.

Imbibe or mix the essences to gain temporary abilities and special ammo you can eject from your vacuum.

Attack enemies to stun them and suck them with your vacuum!
Enemies provide you potion charges.
Gain potion charges to use the shoot and mix mechanics.

Mix recipes

2 armadillos = shotgun
3 armadillos = machinegun
1 mushrooms +1 armadillo = explosive machinefun
2 mushrooms + 1 armadillo = explosive shotgun
Imbibe one mushroom to gain temporary glide
2 mushrooms = flamethrower

I might have struggled to get the hang of the controls at first because there are so many keys and buttons to press for different actions, but I actually enjoyed the overall feel and gameplay of Lunedo Factor. I had no idea that I need to attack first before I could vacuum them while they're down, that's a cool idea. I have a problem with the fact that my health drops even when the enemy is down, either because they exploded on me or I got too close to them as I was trying to vacuum the bad guys. I did struggle to beat the first level but this game is just magnificent. The artwork is splendid, including the background and sprites! Solid game here, the theme of shadow and alchemy was shown on full display throughout the game.

Thank you very much for your feedback and I'm glad you enjoyed the game!!!   I'm aware of most of the issues you mentioned, like lack of control/mechanics explanation and enemy combat feedback but unfortunately i ran out of time to actually fix all of them. Fun idea, but it was hard to do once I got in game. I really like the idea of sucking up enemies after you kill them to augment your abilities

"Shoot" did not work. Didn't understand what "Mix" does. Pressed R but nothing happened..

I should have explained it better in the description! Sorry. All of them work you need to defeat enemies and suck them with the vacuum first to gain charges to do shoot and mix mechanics. Thanks for the feedback added an explanation on the description^^
