  • The worthy soul is a game of a sentient sword looking for a master, choosing those it will allow to wield through the asking of three questions; why do you want to use me, who are you, and do you require anything from me. These three questions determine if the soul of the sword will become good or evil. It is up to the player to determine the sword's outcome. THere seems to be three end choices: good, evil, or neutral based on who the player chooses as worthy. The graphics for the game are solid, I like the changing of the sword's blade textures based on current state and the addition of a codex to track who and what the people claiming the sword are from and like a la "Paper's Please". The concept for the game is solid and what's currently available fits the requirements for the jam. However, the choices are pretty determinative and redundant, the game needs more depth of options for it to be truly engaging experience. I would like to see more character options instead of just the 6-7 that are currently in the game. What are the consequences between the first choice and subsequent choices for who actually wield the sword? What are the negatives for being evil/good? what are the positives? These are questions that quickly lead to depth of experience instead of just clicking through until you hit an end state and starting again. There was no music or sound in the game, it would have been good to have some ominous sound effects for an evil sword run/happy sound effects for a good sword run. Finally, the game only displays properly in full screen mode; while this is okay, having the game redisplay at different resolutions would be nice.

Summarise your game!
You are a sword that desires to be a legendary sword one day. Once in a while you travel hand to hand around people to shape the world and chose whose worthy enough to wield you. Hopefully you are not going to rust away with the useless people.

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
I dont think the game itself is not where i want it to be and I belive i ve completed enough so you guys can enjoy it.

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
(This is a spolier for judges to find all endings) There is 3 ending which comes after selecting the character two times consequentially.characters names are ("Hatu","Kunkaku","... (Cultist)")

This is a really cool idea for a game. The core idea is fun, and with some polish I think you could really have something here.

Ahh I love games like this. Reminds me of Reigns: Three Kingdoms. I think this could really go somewhere and could benefit a lot from some game polish after the jam. Nice work!
