  • While reading through your GDD, I was really excited to try out your game since I enjoyed your inspirations a lot! I think your spin on the jam's theme is really neat! Wanting to be a bomb that defuses itself is such a neat idea! However, the actual game play was really tedious. I'm unsure if it was my screen size, but it felt like trying to actually click on things to grab/select them had a tight pixel allowance for what counted as a real click. Such as in the Clear Screen puzzle. I also had a hard time with the Enter ID puzzle. I could not figure out how to consistently click into the text box. I got it once, and every other time I tried, I ended up exploding before I could click in. Other than that though, the preciseness did not bother me too much. I also want to say that I enjoyed the artwork for the game. It sets a lighter tone, but still conveys the goal of the game clearly! A well done game, that with some interface tweaks, could be even more fun!
  • Art style was enjoyable, but may need tuning for UI readability. While understanding this is supposed to be frenetic and challenging. Often text was overlapping with other dark borders and added strain. The text on the hold timer puzzle was constantly jumping around, and needed to be fixed with. Would like to see scaling difficulty for these puzzles. Some easy then hard, keeping the player on their toes. While the custom mouse cursor design looked and animated great. That inherently brought performance issues with mouse lag causing unnecessarily puzzle failure. Great use of SFX and sound in the puzzles. Music was background enough to not interfere with gameplay audio cues. Visually the danger meter was too out of the way or didn't pop out enough to keep tabs of. ‘Enter ID puzzle’ I was clueless on figuring it out. If it required keyboard input typed in? It did not work for me.

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes

Summarise your game!
You play as da bomb! Like any sensible bomb, you dont want to explode. One day you woke up not in your usual comfy bunker but in a plane flying over a testing zone. All your days of relaxing are over, its time to defuse yourself.

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
You are the bomb, and you want to defuse yourself in time. Rather than being a weapon that is required to deal harm, we wanted to focus on the aspect of trying to stop damage for both self-preservation and protecting others.

cool idea! music is cool too!

After a while the puzzles started to hide under the tiles that they appear from, and the question does not show making them unsolvable. I also wasn't a fan of the smoothed cursor position, it made it feel like the cursor was skating on ice!

Fun idea! Cool puzzle variety. Only problem I had was some of the puzzles would get hidden beneath some of the square sprites. Otherwise, great job.

This is pretty good, but the meter doesn't always appear until too late. The fullscreen function doesn't seem to work well either.
