- Your GDD was really simple, but still had most of the important details! The only thing I might add would be a production timeline. Your game's site is absolutely wonderful! The font and images you added to it felt very fitting for the theme of your game. I liked your interpretation of "You are the weapon" by making the player Excalibur, and trying not to be pulled from the stone. We don't attack anything, but we still are a sword! I absolutely loved the music you chose. However, I was only able to get through the first song and a half. The timing of the key presses felt almost too precise. There was also no variation in rhythm, which made it a bit monotonous when I did finally get the beats down. I think adding an option to set the beat delay like in other rhythm games and spicing up the rhythm with 8th and 16th notes would really help. You have great bones for a game, and I hope you continue to work on it!

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes
Summarise your game!
This is a rhythm game, It's fairly simple, the player has two keys to press for a total of four songs. The beats are spawned randomly so each song is different for each player.
The sword is of the great legend of excalibur and the game is before king Arthur came to take it out, the people that came before him. The narrative just gives you the context that the sword (you) want to stay in the rock as no one is worthy.
Please explain how your game fits the theme:
We took the theme literally, YOU are EXCALIBUR, you want to stay inside the stone.

The game has a solid rhythm foundation, and the music syncs well with the inputs, keeping it engaging. However, the buttons started to desync near the end of a song like previously mentioned —maybe a timing issue? Adding more GFX/SFX for different hit ratings (perfect, bad, miss) would also enhance feedback.. The theme could be pushed further maybe, but overall really solid work on the game-play. That said, finishing a game is an achievement in itself—great job, and congrats on submitting!
Congrats on submitting! I’ve played a bit and it’s alright. Near the end of a song the buttons started to desync a bit, which you really don’t want to happen for a rhythm game ;) Did you maybe use time.deltatime to spawn the notes? Also I think there is a lot of room to expand on the theme more! Now you see the sword start to slip out when you lose, but winning doesn’t really make you FEEL like you’re the sword! Don’t be disheartened though, you did a great job on finishing the game and you should be proud :D
