  • Turn based battlers are always a good type of game to play. The music and atmosphere of this game is great. Being a Sentient Blade that tempts others and takes control of them is a new idea i have not seen much in games it fits the theme perfectly. I had some issues with the intro boxes where i would click a button and it would skip both the story box and the controls box. I think you should continue making this game or at least something similar because it seems like it would be a good game as a complete product.

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
yes

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
yes

Summarise your game!
Dungeon Crawler, turn based combat. You are a cursed weapon trying to slay the one who made you so.

Temp stronger adventurers to wield you, take their power as your own, and slay the litch.

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
I took the prompt "creatively literally". You are a weapon, a sword. Your wielder is the equipment and disposable

I love the 3D effect! The instructions at the start continued automatically which meant I missed most of them.

oh that's weird, i hope you were able to figure some of it out. They should only advance on input, and there should be a delay between accepting. It was a last minute throw together though. I'd appreciate any additional info as it would aid in my own development

Sorry for the delay! The issue with the input is around mouse motion. I like moving my mouse along the text I’m reading but that counts as an input, so it skips. in Godot mouse motion are also InputEvent so you need to filter for InputEventKeyinstead.

Thank you! I had no idea! Any testing I had time for was without mouse.

Very retro

I played a lot of the genre. It was fun teaching myself how to make bits and pieces of the genre. I plan to keep playing around with the concept after the jam. I need a short break though lol

Thank you! I'm very proud of the art I was able to make for the game, especially with it being a newish skill. I really like the Goblins, they're lil' freaks. Also shoutout to br0f's music. The random encounter battle theme is a bop
