  • This was an enjoyable experience with a strong artistic style and solid music that complemented the game well. The movement of the sword felt fluid and was well-implemented, making for a smooth and responsive gameplay experience. One notable issue I encountered was that there didn’t seem to be a lose condition—depleting health did not end the game, which made survival feel less urgent. However, the variety of enemy sprites, along with the inclusion of a boss monster (Aladdin? A flying carpet), added a nice level of diversity to the game. I would love to see some sort of progression system, perhaps allowing the sword to be upgraded using currency or points. The GDD falls a bit short and could definitely be expanded upon—using the previously provided template as a reference could help structure it more effectively. Overall, this was a fun submission with a solid core idea. I’d love to see this game further developed, and I hope to see you again at the next game jam! Keep up the great work!

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
yes

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
yes

Summarise your game!
You have been cursed into becoming a sword, to avoid dying you must now protect your still intact heart which is bound to you with a rope!

You control with your mouse, and left click to pin which is a fundamental action for controlling your weapon.

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
You, in this case "the mouse", controls a blade which has to semi-realistically move around to deal damage, and therefore emulates BEING the weapon.

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
Pay more attention to the art in that case, since most else did not pan out. Mostly due to me not checking that the performance on web would be so terrible...

Cool idea for a mechanic, and nice theme interpretation. Hope you can get the technical issues figured out after the jam (if you plan to continue with the game)

I love the mechanic such that fighting enemies far away moves them closer to you!
Unfortunately I had some technical issues, a crash, and then I couldn't die

Yeah, technical issues were the bane of this project lol. And I only realized it 30 minutes before the deadline lmao. Thanks anywho :)
