  • Game is really lovely! Taking "Castle in the Sky" as inspiration is a really good shout, the movie is a masterpiece! The music is wonderful, the art style is very cosy and fitting for the setting! The golem is also very strong and easy to control! I would like to see some indicators where the enemies are. With a map this large, it's impossible to find every single one of the enemies that are breaking things. Especially with how often and from how many directions they spawn. The destruction of environment is really interesting and a fun game mechanic! Could be fun to include collectibles that could restore the island, for example, seeds you could plant. All in all, well done! Thank you for participating and I hope to see you next Jam!

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes

Summarise your game!
You are a unstoppable golem tasked to defend a magical floating island from human invaders who want to harvest its resources and destroy it. But you have to be careful to not harm the environment with your destructive arsenal of powerful abilities while doing so

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
You are a weapon of mass destruction and there isn't anything your enemies can do to stop you. But that's not their objective. Use your destructive power in moderation to defeat the humans while not causing harm to the wild life you were made to protect

Nice game! Graphics are really well made,

I had some trouble to find where enemies are and the only effective method to defeat them seemed to bubble them out of the map

I played, I enjoyed, I lost. The game is a bit difficult, I wish there was a mini-map so I could see where the pirates were. But, wow. I decided to open the game again and listen to the title screen music as I write this lol. Out of all the games I've given feedback to so far, I think this is one of my favorites in terms of art style and world setting. I like the aspect of being a defensive weapon, yet can affect your own allies and environment also. This is only a small piece of a feedback but I think swapping the positions of the exit and play again button on the lose screen would be a bit more intuitive. I wish this game was bigger, it's the sort of game I'd love to explore more of. I thought the secondary mechanic of catching things in your bubble was cool too! I used it to catch pirates and carry them along with me, until I found another pirate and dealt with them both at the same time 😂Overall, fantastic. Your team did an incredible job!!

I love how the art and tiny bit of story suggest a whole imaginative world. I love all the sprite work, and the sound design on the laser cannon feels really good. It just feels powerful. Game is pretty hard though, I have a hard time finding all the pirates.

Nice game, well done!

Thank you for the feedback, I'm glad the we could sell the idea of a world. With the rushed playtesting I did last minute, I can agree that the game is pretty hard lol, even with knowing where the enemies spawn; but it is definitely beatable once you figure out the spawn order. we were planning on having an alert saying where the next wave would be, but alas ran out of time.

I'm glad you still enjoyed the game, I too love the work our artists and composer did; the game definitely wouldn't have been the same without them.
