How did you feel during the jam?
Awesome! I've just switched to Godot after the Unity scandal and this is our first game using it.

The intro is very climatic. The characters and the environment in it looked very nicely.
I think that making the character shoot in the direction of the mouse cursor would help immensely in the gameplay.
It was fun, I wish you luck in your future games too :)
Hey! Thanks a lot, good luck with your future games, I will be following you! By the way, do you plan to develop Back to the Bone any further?
I've released a new version where the controls have been greatly improved (including that mouse aim you told me), but unfortunately I can't upload it here as to not interfere with the jams. So I've uploaded it on a separate page, check it out! :)
Thanks ^^ Yes, we will be developing Back to the Bone further but it will take us some time as we plan to take part in the Metroidvania Month Game jam in November and it wil delay in time our work, but we are excited to add more mechanics, the story and many more.
Thanks for the link, I will check it out for sure :)
This was fun! I would like to try it where WASD moves and the other arrow keys or mouse allow me to shoot in a different direction than I am moving. I look forward to playing future versions of this game.

Enjoyed this game a lot! Played it before the updated version as well and the polish is clearly noticeable. Would be nice to maybe have a power-up that lets you temporarily shoot towards more directions, or lets you deal AoE for a short time. Later on I was just running around the map due to the large amount of enemies and something like that could've help to get out of that situation.
Thank you, I'm really glad you enjoyed it!
If you take a look at the latest gameplay we've released you can see that it's easier if you rely heavily on your minions, so you need to keep raising them.
But there are two main problems with this version that makes it difficult:

Great game! The art was great it could use some improvements in the controls but overall great game.
Thank you my good sir!
I actually released an update for the controls, but I couldn't upload it here as to not interfere with the jam.
The updated version can be found here
Hello! Thanks for your submission! I really like the game, however, I would enjoy it even more if it was slightly slower. Especially at the beginning. The intro is great. I also love the ritual mechanics. Great job! :)
Hey there! Thank you so much for the feedback, it means a lot.
It's a work in progress, we still need to balance many things out, so any feedback is welcome. When you say slower, what do you mean? The movement? The cooldowns? The progression? The play time?
We'll release new arenas, with the goal of having an easier arena at the start, then you can unlock harder arenas by achieving a certain high score. I hope that will help with the learning curve, but you can also check out this update's gameplay so you can get a feeling for it!
Amazing! I cannot wait to play the new version!
By 'slower' I meant the enemies. So much is happening right from the start that I don't have the time to get mentally in the game loop :D. I would love the enemies and player speed to maybe increase overtime - but requiring my quick reactions from very beginning is really stressful haha.
Yeah, I totally get what you're saying. That's one of the things we're releasing soon, the enemy scaling instead of just adding more enemies.
We still have to build a smoother learning curve, but yeah this game is supposed to get stressful and overwhelming at some point, because each run goes on indefinitely and it just gets harder. It's a fight to the death. Story-wise, the Countess was innocent and came back as a vengeful spirit to inflict on her executers everything she was accused of.

Took me a while to figure out the ritual but liked it when I did though as more enemies appeared on the map it got harder and harder to get to the bodies to use it.
I thought the art was great and liked the chaos.
Hey! Thanks you, it means a lot! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
It's an arcade game where you fight to the death, so it gets harder infefinitely. The goal is to survive for as long as you manage and get your score!
There are new updates every week, and soon we're gonna have a few things you can do with your score:
For the Global High Score Board, we're gonna have a live on Twitch where we feature the top scores and award them stuff!
