This is a very impressive entry! I would happily pay full price that looks and sounds as good as this does!

The gameplay itself was a little bit frustrating. Platforming challenges in first person are tough, but the bottomless pit makes them very unforgiving. When stage 3 began, a pulsating black cube appeared in my field of view in seconds, and I was dead before I could recognize that it was an enemy or shoot it. I would have happily tried again, but I found myself back on stage 1.

I really did appreciate the world-building on display here though. The multiverse training mission is a cute take on the theme, and I loved the little touches like the recruitment poster in the lobby and the instructional voiceover.

Thank you so much for your lovely comments, I'm happy you enjoyed the silly world building  ^~^

Yeah the cube is something I've been getting lots of feedback/responses too! I could have maybe included some kinda popup that tells you not to look away or make it for forgiving, still learning all the ins and outs of game design so I appreciate the feedback thank you ^~^

CONGRATULATIONS! Amazing work, especially for a first game! I can tell you can do so many more amazing things if ya keep going. I really enjoyed my time, and would love to get my hands on whatever you work on in the future too! Only really 3 things I had much of an issue with personally: trouble controlling my momentum, lack of air control when jumping, and I felt like the audio balancing left some things a little quieter than I'd like. Not sure how much of that is just a me issue, but regardless, such amazing work!

Thank you for the feedback!! Yes the movement system I would have loved to expand on, I had the idea to create a cs style "bunny" hopping system as I thought that would be a fun addition but didn't have time to implement it haha - but that's defo something I will mess with in the future :3

And no it's not a you issue! The quips and some other stuff could have been mixed better - once the jam review period is over I might release a patch that tackles all these lil quirks :3

Congratulations on your first game! This is really fantastic. The sounds are especially wonderful - all of the audio feedback was really good and it made it so much more satisfying to play.

First off, congratulations on your first game, and either way this is a win (it's way better than my first many games). It's a really good concept and I love the 3d pixel art look. Unfortunately I got stuck on that black cube in level 3. I tried walking around it and shooting it, but it kept killing me, so I wasn't able to finish the game.

The only other thing that I noticed was that in a couple placed the ground got a bit warped, and I wasn't sure if that was intentional or a glitch, but not a big issue. Great work, and good luck with future games!

Thank you for checking it out and reviewing :D
There is actually a skip cube level button in options menu!! I had a few people struggle to get past it and I wanted people to play to the end of the game!!
and ooh yeah that was a quirk with the retro material I was using, I did like the wiggly look but yeah it was a lil extreme in some areas haha x3
